I wasn’t really harshing on Jordin for being snippy this week. She’s human, not a just a product now matter how hard AI tries to turn her into one. I’m only 26, I haven’t forgotten in the slightest what I was like at 17, and I probably would have told Simon to shove it long ago.
I haven’t even voted this year, so it’s not like I was turned into a non-fan of Jordin because of anything she said this week. But the fact is millions of people are judging everything these kids say and do every week, and being snippy with the judges has gotten contestants into trouble in the past. Is it fair? Probably not. Did it hurt Jordin at all this week? Probably not, as she will get to sing about puppies and rainbows and all your dreams coming true this week.

On April 21st someone asked Ricky who TPTB wanted as the final 3 and final 2:
I still say Blake will win in what appears to be an “underdog” win.
Also this:
“when chris richardson goes, Blake lewis will be #1 vote getter right till the end. straight up.”
Interesting….. I wonder if it’s true.

I said I thought it would be Melinda vs. Blake in the finale- but I’ve been saying for awhile now that Blake will win.
He’s the obvious choice to sell records.
Besides that is what Ricky said above not what I said.
That’s funny. Ricky said that this week, the vote was so close, they seriously considered bouncing Blake. But in the end, decided to go with the actual lowest vote getter, Melinda.
If Ricky is to be believed, I guess TPTB didn’t want Blake that badly after all.

And Ricky seems to know a bit I agree but many of his details seem pretty much guesses or flat out wrong.
I would have “rigged” Blake out WEEKS ago.
MJ: I think that post from Ricky about the vote being so close they almost sent blake home instead was proven to not be from Ricky. Ricky hasn’t posted at IDF or his blog for several weeks- it was someone else posting claiming they had seen Ricky post it at another board.
Sagie: From the looks of the final 3 performance show it was definitely set up to favor Blake and Melinda. And as for Blake being TCO- I’ll guess we’ll find out on Wednesday next week if I was right or not.
I honestly think Jordin has been the one being pimped left and right, she is the chosen one. I don’t think we can say that if Blake wins that he was chosen one. We look at the whole season and watch it week to week and then it becomes very obvious.
TPTNB want us to forgive every “pitchy” moment from Jordin because :gasp!: she is only 17!
XO, if you look at the pimp spots and performance orders this year, Blake is not TCO. He’s had the pimp spot once. Not just once in the top 12. Once over all.
Kirsten has been kind enough to provide detailed performance order stats, including kiss of death spot, pimp spot, first half, etc. Jordin has clearly been pimped, bless her heart.
If Blake wins, it doesn’t prove he’s TCO. It proves he had the most votes. That is all.

Plus, I personally don’t care if someone is TCO or not. I vote for the one who appeals to me.
It was rumored earlier in the season that TPTB wanted the winner this year to be a “dark horse” not someone who seemed to be leading all along. They wanted a Kelly Clarkson type story- if that is true. Blake would fit that profile.
PJ: I also don’t care about someone being TCO. I haven’t voted this season and I don’t really care who wins. I usually support the contestant who is NOT TCO. LOL
Oh, and I think Ricky said that stuff about Blake earlier on b/c he wanted Chris R to stay in the game. He had a source giving him song selections, but that even stalled towards the end. Vote totals and TPTB motives are NOT something most workers on AI have access to… so I hardly think that’s a valid point.
In ref. to Kelly C weight, she said on Ellen’s show that when shes on tour she typically loses 15 lbs and she starts touring in July.
I like the cd cover. It is kinda like Gone With the Wind, but actually reminds me more of a harlequin romance cover.
Kelly’s CD cover is creepy. I hate it. I hope that Kat is on next week’s finale. She was runnerup, and, deserves to be there. Although, I’m not a huge fan, I like Kat, and, think s he is one beautiful girl. Her voice is better than the crappy CD she made. I sure hope that Chris and Taylor aren’t on the AI the same night next week. The media will have a field day with it. They already have. And, for the record, success isn’t measured in numbers of CDs sold. Even though Kat’s numbers aren’t stellar, one can’t argue with her beautiful face adorning the mags. She is a success in t hat area. Elliott looked like he was auditioning for a remake of Teen Wolf with that hairdo last night. Goodness!!

Getting snippy with the judges — Kat got snippy with the judges, Taylor got snippy with the judges albiet with a smirk on his face, but still…. Chris D rolled his eyes and tried to hide his snarl, Blake apaprently is seasoned enough to break the rules and get snippy when the camera’s are off. More power to him.
I just think that Jordin is getting a bad rap — it’s not her fault that the viewing public thinks she’s TCO but put the blame where it lies - on TPTB. What is happening is the viewing public are taking it out on Jordin and voting against her for that. Wrong!
Skylight, Kelly’s CD cover is very current, stylish, thought provoking and actually very tame compared to Kat’s Open Legs “come and get it” stance. All kat has for sale is herself and rather than chose to sell her talent, she’s selling her looks and it appears you’re ready to buy. Hope you have a platinum AMEX.
So, like, uh, when she sings it comes outta her mouth and her mouth is attached to her, like, beautiful face and her beautiful face, like, is singing and by, like transference, her beautiful face makes her voice beautiful ? Kinda like the hip bone is connected to the ham bone?

Blake has a great machine going for him. He has great friends. I somehow doubt it’s his design. But if so, good for him.

Jordin being TCO is not what turned me off to her..However the little incident of her pretending to cry when she realized the cameras were on her, when before she was grinning from ear to ear like a cheshire cat, DID…
Fantasia is a hit on Broadway. I have read at least 4 reviews of her performance a Celie in the Color Purple and they have all been overwhelmingly great. If you get the NY POST yesterday, they not only gushed over her singing, but her acting as well. Her sophomore CD might not be making platinum, but so what ? She’s rakin’ in the big bucks on Broadway. Here is today’s review in the New York Newsday :
It’s no fantasy, Fantasia is the real thing

This is no casting gimmick. Fantasia Barrino - high-school dropout in ninth grade, single mother at 17, “American Idol” winner in 2004 - makes a phenomenal stage debut as Celie in “The Color Purple.”
Much as fellow “Idol” discovery Jennifer Hudson swept into the Oscar books as Effie in “Dreamgirls,” the 22-year-old known as Fantasia steps confidently into the demanding role in which LaChanze won last year’s Tony Award. With a startling mixture of subtle delicacy and raw power, she dares us to take our eyes off her.
“The Color Purple” is not merely Fantasia’s first musical. This is the first musical the self-described “little country girl” from North Carolina ever saw. She caught Broadway’s first big black-supported and black-attended hit after the producers (Oprah Winfrey, we assume) recently offered her the role without an audition.
