Wonder if any of Adam’s tracks will sound like this (note the guitar–J. Hawkins like?). I bet we get one a bit like it, no?
My take is, RCA will probably not let Adam veer too far from mainstream – I just can’t see them doing that. I love that Lyndsey has so much love for the tracks, but my impression was always that they’d want to craft TOP 40 style pop/electronic/dance tracks (at least some of them) that, according to Adam and others, will definitely have a modern sound. I just can’t see it being so out there or experimental that it would not have the potential to get picked up on the radio. Not saying that it WILL (though certainly HOPING it will
) but, yeah, just my take.
They’ve put too much money into Adam, lining up the best PR, producers, writers, etc. that it will likely veer more toward what we already see on the charts (which I’m kinda hoping for, actually, at least for the first album). The second one is allowed to be more out there
Yeah same here’ ¦.my favorite though as been Ferras’ ¦check out his album Aliens & Rainbows..it has become one of my favorites..sooooo gooooood!
Totally agree!!! He seems like such a cool dude (AND BEST PAL OF ONE AIMEE MAYO!!!). Sadly, their collab did not make Adam’s album, but they are still shopping it around.
ETA: Thank you, Mary. As always, you guys keep me centered.
im sure you guys probably saw this… but they posted Adam’s vid as well:

Adamland thx I like cocktail as a type of song although rocky horror is an all time fave I’m relying on Adams something for everybody statements. I think some of his stuff will be pushing my envelope and I think thAt some videos might tweak my cringe factor button but love the risks he’s taking. Lady gagas vids are not my thing but her songs are enjoyable.
LOL! And you keep us supplied with insider tweets from all of Adam’s collaborators
Oh, I REALLY LIKE Hot Leg. Very 80s sound (in a good way). I could see this.
BTW, tweet from Laura Saltman:
will have video up 2nite or tmw with the answer! RT @burningSunset: @DishofSalt LMAO! Yes please, to that question! What did he say?
Does this have anything to do w/ Adam or it unrelated?
I do think the album will be an ecclectic mix, and Lyndsey may have heard one end of the spectrum. I am certain that the majority of songs were crafted to fit right in Top 40 with a Pink/Lady GaGa/ Katy Perry vibe. I think 19/RCA is banking on Adam being their break-out, Top 40 person. As long as the gorgeous voice is there, I will be happy. This will certainly be a much different record than I normally would be attracted to—but, again, it’s that voice.
lol, Mary, and Chicagolaw, I agree. IT IS THE VOICE. IT IS EXACTLY THE VOICE. I listen primarily to more pop bands (Keane, DMB, One Republic) or artists (Gavin DeGraw, Jack Johnson–don’t hate me, Adele), BUT I am now into Muse and the Twilight soundtrack (Death Cab for Cutie song: excellent) and other artists I would not have been pre-Adam, as I said. I also listen more to GaGa/Katy Perry (still not a Pink fan, cannot help it, let Allison go that way, not Adam) than I used to (am expanding my horizons). And I was a BIG Moby fan (and Depeche Mode, and The Cure and Yaz, etc.) so moody and electro goes a long way with me.
DAMMIT, just put out a single, Adam. Dying here.

So I said that I thought that Adam was still Awake Man, vis a vis coat, MW, Black Swan.
I’m not sure I understand what mainstream is in relation to Adam Lambert. I can put many idols into those peg holes, but I have a hard time figuring out how Adam would fit. Reading how Lindsay describes his songs just verifies my impression that Adam is definitely going OTT and bombastic. And considering who the PTB have teamed him up with I don’t think they are about to vanilla him any time soon.
Is mainstream in the GaGa lane? If he goes OTT–no issues with experimental rock/electro pop–will it sell? Because you KNOW TPTB want bang for their bucks. And just having the name Adam Lambert (and that VOICE, God, that VOICE) may not be enough (tho intro by way of TfM is gonna pay off big-time, me thinks). As a Moby and Fatboy Slim fan, I’d like to see a bit of that. Maybe? Synth is your friend. I would never expect vanilla from Adam. If they wanted vanilla, they wouldn’t put him with the artist and producers that they have had him collaborate with, I totally agree.
I know people don’t like the Lady Gaga comparison, but that’s more what I’m thinking (at least for some of the songs). Believe it or not, a lot of very current, successful acts have a throwback vibe (borrowing from the 70’s and 80’s, etc.) So I don’t think this is too much of a stretch.
ImMattGiraud @adamlambert Hey great job on the video, man! And thanks for letting me be in it! (I was in one of the cars)haha btw where are the pancakes

A nice tweet from MATT to Adam
You didn’t think I would leave you hanging, right?
Laura SaltmanDishofSalt lol. dont think i didnt ask about that RT @suebrody1: Still think Adam is the Awake Man…MW…coat…BLACK SWAN…just sayin.

SO it is still a possibility, as i tweeted back to her.
And she could then flail and flail…such a sight to behold. She and Lyndsey are my favorite fangirls, followed by Michelle Collins.
I think that would be so neat if Adam was the Awake Man. One of the things I like alot about his look is that to me he looks like he could be on a cover of my romance books that I read. His got that look that’s really different.I don’t know how to explain it. What is he now on i-tunes.
FYI for those of you that say your favorite is Ferras – a couple of tweets between him and molinari:
molinari to ferras: DILDO MUCH? How’s ur PLAYTEX GENTLE GUIDE?
ferras to molinari: BETTER THAN USING A COKE BOTTLE OR LIGHT BULB LIKE U!
Suerody:
Please scroll upthread and look at the nine spots above Adam’s TFM. Which one of these top 10 songs say “radio-ready Kris Allen” to you. That soft/pop rock market is extremely overcrowded and becoming less popular, especially amoung tweens and teens. They want something they can dance to. Adam’s new music is what’s hot now.
Adam took voice lessons from the time he was 10. He was in two sections of chorus every year in high school. Also, when you are in musicals you are under the direction of a musical director. He has taken his voice and his talents seriously since he was young.
Adam did not just fall into American Idol and hope for the best. He is not taking this opportunity lightly and it is paying off. Relax and enjoy! I sometimes wonder how the news could get much better. (but things keep getting better!!!)
Lmfao!! Touche.
I don’t expect vanilla from Adam but I definetely expect it from RCA. It seems they have a tendency to go the safe route with the idols they sign. Yes, they won’t become huge this way but they can be moderately succesful. It’s like they go for the middle road, maybe a bit too middle road than what is really necessary. I agree that they have to think about where in the market the idol will fit but they also have to consider who the idol is as an artist. For example, I think it was brilliant for Danny to go more country than pop, I really can’t picture him on top40, his image is much more wholesome. The music market it broader than top40 and not everyone has to be a soul diva a la Clive Davis to be succesful.

Reminder:
By the way, I’m going through this entire thread for the first time. The next poster who calls another poster “a troll” will be put into moderation.
Not sure if this is the right thread for this. Need help in understanding why when i vote on myspace the percentage doesn’t change. It should change right? Would appreciate any feedback on this.
