Super-duper-awesome gal on the scene, Caffiend, attended the Top 11 Performance rehersal tonight! She got us some song spoilers!
This is the order, more or less. There might be a few I’ll need to switch in the middle. She says the show was “fabulous” tonight. Everyone was really good. Syesha was the weakest. If she goes this week, we’ll have a fantastic Top 10, she says.

- Michael Johns - “A Day in the Life” - Fabulous, changed it up a bit.
- David Cook - “Day Tripper” - Peter Frampton style with Vox box
- Brooke White - “Here Comes the Sun” No piano or guitar - Danced a little. Really good.
- Carly Smithson - “Blackbird” - “Blew me away.” Nailed it–tears.
- Jason Castro - “Michelle” - Beautiful. No guitar. Great audience interaction.
- Syesha Mercado - “Yesterday” - Overdid it.
- Chikezie - “I’ve Just Seen A Face” - Changed it up again. Pulled out a harmonica.
- Ramiele Malubay - “I Should Have Known Better”

Thanks for the list, MJ. Is that the order in which they are performing tonight? If so, they want Ramiele for the tour (by putting her last). And they don’t really want Amanda if they’re putting her first.

David A got another slow “depressing” song.
I think Amanda (USSR) picked a good song for her raspy voice. I shudder to think what Kristy Lee will do to one of my favorites, Hide Your Love Away. Archie will snooze us to death as the Long and Winding Road is SOOO boring. Michael John picked a song I hoped he would do - Day in a Life. It’s demanding. Day Tripper I think would be good for David Cook, and Brooke picked, I think, the perfect song for her. Hey wait - she got a Harrison tune! How did that happen? Carly got Blackbird - I was hoping Jason would sing that. Jason has Michelle - which is just his style, but I wouldn’t mind seeing him do something a little up tempo this week! I love Jason & I’m sure he’ll do it well. Syesha got Yesterday - a hard one to do as it’s iconic. Chikezie - wonder what he’ll pull this week. That is a HARD song - it’s so fast! Ramiele - if she’s really last in order, they are giving her the pimp spot. It’s at least a bit more of an upbeat song, which I think she needs to do, but it seems like a weird choice for me, for her.
I’ve never heard of that song Chikizie is doing, at least I don’t recognize the name.
Syesha might be saved by that song choice. A lot of people love that song.

Honestly, it just depends on how she does with it. A lot of people love it, but if she doesn’t do it justice, they won’t be happy…

I love David A’s choice. I think it is a beautiful song. Chikeze seems to have a great knack for shaking things up. If he hadn’t been so cheeky early on with Simon I think he would be one of the guys to beat. This season is shaping up as a real competition. Maybe two weeks of the Beatle’s was a good thing?

I think rehearsal ran until about 3:30 PT today…later than last week.
Great list for idol tonite. Little D should do well with that song and come on now.. it’s not a depressing song..just slow…it should showcase his voice. You all didn’t think he was gonna do an upbeat song 2 weeks in a row did ya? LOL

Well, I was kinda “predicting” what Simon would say. If a song is deep or thoughtful, he’s likely to call it depressing. But maybe he won’t.

Yeah, I guess they definitely want Ramiele around a while, and probably want Kristy gone (spots 2 and 3 have sometimes been more of a death spot than performing first). It looks like, for the most part, they took the ones who were in the end of the show last week and put them at the start, then took the ones who opened the show last week and put them at the end, and kept the middle just about the same.
Brooke is definitely a chosen one at the moment, for better or worse. Kind of like her getting to sing “Let It Be” last week. We get it, haha.
This show certainly sounds like it’s going to be good, I’m definitely looking forward to Jason Castro! The two I’m doubting are Syesha and Kristy Lee but everyone else sounds positive. :)
Some good choices there although I’m not sure Michael’s is what I’d have chosen for him. I’m not looking forward to hearing Kristy. That’s a song I really like but that’s with John singing. David A’s song is predictable. You’d think he’d mix it up a little. Amanda’s song is perfect for her. I’m really looking forward to seeing them all!
Ten of the eleven songs will be new to me. *sigh* Oh well, at least I’ve heard “Yesterday” before. I hope that I love at least some of the others.

Disagree about Syesha. She was far from the worst. In fact, I ranked her second on the night behind David A. Worst of the night, imo, was Kristy Lee, followed by Amanda, Chikezie and Brooke. Ramiele was pretty good. Michael, Carly and Jason was just ok. David C. wasn’t as good as the past 2 weeks - the vox box detracted from his performance for me.
