Top 12 - Elimination

David Hernandez is Eliminated Tonight

Bottom 3:

  • Syesha Mercado
  • Kristy Lee Cook
  • David Hernandez

Video:

thank you Lawrence for the video…

Next week’s theme? The Beatles. Yes, you read that right…

The show tonight opens with cross promotion: Horton’s little Whos sit in front of the television, anticipating the start of American Idol. Just like the rest of us.

You did it America. Over 29 million votes Tuesday night. And it’s finally happening. Season 7 is out pacing Season 6 in vote totals. Last season’s Top 12 garnered 28 million votes. I’m not surprised. I expect to see the same kind of turn-about in the ratings as the buzz for this season continues to grow.

ETA: More recap After the Jump!

Jim Carrey, in the audience dressed as Horton, begins tonight’s pimpathon for Horton Hears a Who, the new movie–from FOX, of course.

Ryan jokes that the Beatles theme was SO popular, the kids are going to do it again next week. Wait. He’s not kidding. TPTB are actually going to push their luck with the Lennon/McCartney songbook. The kids are singing Beatles tunes again next week. Eep. The contestants did such a fantastic job with the catalog this week, why not just leave it at that? Unless they’ve managed to secure Paul McCartney as a mentor, I don’t see the point of a repeat.

Oh yeah, GROUP SING! Over the years we’ve had the Beatles music turned into fodder for chipmunks, muzak, disco music (remember “Stars on 45″?) and any number of bland, banal ripoffs. That’s why I don’t mind the kids pointy posing to some of the Beatles’ early tunes. It can’t be worse than the Season 5 tribute to Sgt Pepper, can it?

Michael Johns is off key and forgets the words to “All My Loving”. He thinks it’s pretty funny too. Shot of Jim Carrey rocking out in his ridiculous costume. Jason Castro singing one of my fav early songs, “I Feel Fine” puts a huge grin on my face. OMG, the kids strike a very choreographed pose. I am so VERY happy! This choreography is WAY TOO AWESOME! David Cook solo! YAY! The camera keeps cutting to Jim Carey and it’s cracking me up.

Go Chikezie! That’s my new mantra. David Hernandez messes up the words to “Can’t Buy Me Love.” David Archuleta shaking his hips is something I don’t need to see. Thanks a bunch.

The kids cry for “Help”. It’s probably their theme song right about now.

LOVED the group sing. So did Jim Carrey. And heh, there is Sanjaya Malakar and his sister Shyamali! They liked it, too.

Back from break, it’s time to get to work. Ryan asks, “Who will get the ticket to ride?” *blink* Ryan says that he’s looking for the three people with the lowest number of votes for the bottom three. He asks Carly Smithson, Michael Johns, Jason Castro and Syesha Mercado to stand up. Gosh, who could possibly be in the bottom three out of that bunch? So far, this isn’t exactly a nail-biter. Ryan begins, “…America voted, and Carly, you are safe.” He continues, “Michael, I need you…to take a seat, you are safe.” Michael, a little faked out, is relieved. Ryan lets the ladies scream for Jason before he says, “…America voted, you’ve connected with them, you are safe.”

Syesha Mercado is left. “After the vote, Syesha, you are in the Bottom 3 tonight.” She nods and joins Ryan center stage. The judges think sending Syesha home would be the wrong choice, but Simon believes she belongs in the Bottom 3. Ryan hands her the mic. The Bottom 3 will all be reprising their performances tonight. Time killer! She sings, still with the awkward pauses, but not smiling nearly as much as the night before. She screams one last note, and it’s an ear buster. Ouch.

Ford Commercial! How clever, the American Idol contestants as political candidates. Nobody has ever made that comparison before! Ahem. They sing, “The Distance” by Cake.

And it’s back to the results. Wait, no it’s not. First, we have to watch a weirdly edited tape. It’s a smoosh-up of the Idols attending the Horton Hears a Who premier over the weekend/sitting for their Top 12 official photos. It’s oddly framed by the Beatles’ “A Day in the Life”–”I saw a film today, oh boy…” Kill. Me. Now. At least the version of the song is a cover and not the genuine article. Whoever edited this clip must have been tripping. Literally.

Now, it’s really back to the results. Ryan asks Chikezie, Amanda Overmyer, Kristy Lee Cook and David Cook to stand up. David, why do you look so nervous? As if you’re even close to being in the Bottom 3. Ryan brings Chikezie down to the stage to tell him he’s safe. C’mon, after Chikezie’s break-out performance the night before, couldn’t y’all give him a break and stop playing with him? Amanda is safe too. And David Cook. Of course.

Kristy is left. Before Ryan even opens his mouth, she asks, “Where is my microphone?” Smart girl. Ryan says, “How do you know what’s happening?” She says, “Because I sucked big, giant donkey balls last night.” No, she doesn’t really say that, but she should have. After the blah blah run through of judges comments, Ryan finally tells her to grab the microphone. Kristy apologizes to the judges, and hopefully to all of America, “Sorry you have to hear it again.” Kristy babbles incoherently, like a confused pageant queen, when Ryan asks why she thought she was going. She sings out, and it’s not half-bad–she hits that last high note. Simon still hates it.

After the break, Ryan “takes some calls”. Most of the questions are directed at the judges, but A 12 year old asks Jason Castro, if he could be any American Idol judge, who would he be? Jason, who appears to be in a perpetual state of embarrassment, points out helpfully that Pauler is a girl, and then he mumbles something about Randy’s shoes. Simon rolls his eyes. Ronnie Paulie, aka “dumbass”, has auditioned for Idol 6 times and asks the judges for advice. Simon tells him to find another job. Ronnie walked right into that one. John Aaron wants to know when Simon and Ryan are going to “throw down.” Ryan says, “Load in the mud, I’m ready.” Simon says, “See you after the show, Ryan.” Ok, Simon didn’t say that, but it would have been awesome if he had. Ryan dumps the “Simon is sexy…” call. Jellus! A British lady living in the States asks Simon who he thinks are better singers, Americans or Brits. He says, “American singers have the most talent, however, on the judging panel, the Brits.” Wow, that Simon-so clever on his feet! Right. Well, as time-wasters go, that could have been worse.

Katharine McPhee and scary asshat David Foster are next, singing George Harrison’s “Something.” A nod to George. He deserves it, he wrote more incredible Beatles songs than I have time to list. Eh, I’m not loving Katharine’s diva take on “Something.” So, it’s safe to assume Katharine is all done singing “rhythm pop” since that didn’t work out for her too well? On to the next genre! She tries them on like clothes. Speaking of clothes, what the hell is she wearing? It’s some kind of hooker-flapper look. Not flattering. David Foster plays piano while Katharine sings. As Simon would say, the performance is very “old fashioned” and “cabaret”. I’m not feeling this at all. Eh. Still, I’m glad they are sticking to Idol alumni as musical guests. Foster says that he and Katharine will be making a record together. Goodbye “Open Toes”, we hardly knew ye!

It’s time for the last of the slicing and dicing. Cut to the contestants. Jim Carrey is out of his Horton costume, sitting with the kids. “I should have never done the REO Speedwagon thing, man.” I’m sure the Idols still awaiting their fates are loving this “comedy”.

Carrey seems to be finally done with his whoring for the night, and goes back to his seat. Ryan asks David Archuleta, Brooke White, David Hernandez and Ramiele Malubay to the center stage. David H. and Ramiele groan. “Let’s start with David…Archuletta…America voted…David, you get a chance to redeem yourself, you are safe.” Screams from the audience. David hugs Brooke, you can hear her say, “I’m so glad.” David goes back to his seat. “Now, let’s turn our attention to Brooke…America voted, you are safe, take a seat.” Brooke sits down.

Ramiele and David H. are left. Ryan goes through the judges comments with both. “…America voted, Ramiele…you are safe…which means David, you are in our Bottom 3.” Ryan asks David how he’s doing right now. How do you think, Ryan? What a stupid question. David says he’s pretty exhausted, but he’s fine, “It doesn’t necessarily mean I’m going home tonight, I’m just in the Bottom 3.” Yeah. David sings. On the verge of being eliminated, he has dialed the performance way back. It’s much less corny here. “Who is going home?” asks Ryan. Syesha and Kristy Lee join David on stage. “I’m going to send one of you to safety, one of you can relax…

…after the break.”

After the damn break, Ryan asks the judges what they think. Randy thinks it’s “probably” the right Bottom 3. Paula says she’s never seen a “more stronger” Bottom 3, but eventually admits, after some prodding from Simon, that America got it right. Simon says, “I think America got this absolutely spot on.”

“I can send one of you back to safety right now,” says Ryan, “that person coming back next week…Syesha, you are safe.” Syesha looks pained, smiles, and then goes back to her seat. “We are now left with Kristy and David…after 29 million votes, America has decided, that Kristy…” She narrows her eyes. “You are safe. David Hernandez leaves us tonight on American Idol.”

David and Kristy hug for a bit and exchange words before she goes back to her seat. “Here’s David, guys.” David gives the thumbs up. “Tough night, huh?” Gah, with the stupid questions, Ryan. David talks to his fans, “Things happen for a reason…you’ll see me at the top…this isn’t it for me…”

Ryan introduces the new boot song, “Celebrate Me Home” sung by Ruben Studdard. The song is a real tear-jerker. David’s goodbye video plays out over the credits.

Tonight’s elimination–not a surprise. Between the fall out from stripper-gate, and a horribly picked song performed horribly, David lost his spot. That’s how it goes in Idol land.

What happened to the acting career?

Her first movie, “The House Bunny” where she plays a pregnant girl named Harmony comes out in August, unless they change the date. There is already tons of press about it, so you will be hearing more about I’m sure. I can’t wait to see her on the big screen.

I soooo don’t get the not connecting thing, I mean to each their own, I respect all of your opinions, everyone’s is different and that’s fine, but I have connected with that girl in every single thing she has performed, I and so many other people think she’s just amazing.

  2. 102 calimari Mar 13th, 2008 at 8:38 am

Is it my imagination, or did Kat keep singing the lyrics, “Don’t want to leave him now, you know I believe him now”?

That’s how I heard it too, which bugged me, as the lyrics are “you know I believe and how.” She looked pretty enough, the refrains sounded off to me. Didn’t come close to Taylor’s version, although you would expect it to be different w/ a woman’s touch. I thought she went too big on it like she did w/ that elvis tune. She should have sung it simply instead of going all power note on it.

Bored to death w/ the phone in calls, which were mostly for judges & not contestants, the whole Jim Carrey time waster, and seeing ALL THREE bad performances again. Correct bottom 3, but wrong one went home.

  3. 103 hicksaholic Mar 13th, 2008 at 8:43 am

I’m in the didn’t get Katharine category. She seems to smile and look heavenward at the most inappropriate times. She just doesn’t seem to communicate a song’s meaning(at least not to me). Taylor’s version although probably not better technically was head and shoulders above Katharine’s IMO

David Hernandez should have stayed- Kristi Lee Cook is awful and I got the feeling watching her in the bottom three she knew she wasn’t going home.

The group number was probably the worst in Idol history which is really surprising considering these are SUPPOSEDLY “the best top twelve EVAH”

  4. 104 bean99 Mar 13th, 2008 at 9:16 am

BTW I will almost be willing to bet my house that nobody tries to claim that Kristy Lee ripped off their version of “Eight Days a Week”

    :lol_tb:

I was so bummed last night about David H going home instead of Kristy. It makes me nervous that a guy might go next week. I thought David’s performance last night was better than Tues. and he might have stayed longer if he’d done it that way. I refused to listen to Kristy again.

Ditto about the phone calls/texts. Boring. I did think the group sing was pretty good. You’ll never find me complaining that there’s too much Michael, lol. Kat sang well although my favorite version will always be George Harrison’s. I don’t know why we need another Beatles week. I’d love to hear them sing more current songs for once.

I think there are some that need to mix things up next week. Ramiele needs to pick a faster, more fun song. I’m not sure what she’s been thinking in her song choices. Brooke and Jason should consider stretching a bit and going out of their comfort zone. I can’t see either of them on stage doing anything other than playing an instrument or sitting/standing in one place. Chikeze needs to continue to wow next week. Michael needs a money song and I hope it’s a faster one next time although loved Across the Universe. David A needs to remember his lyrics. :rolleyes_tb:

  5. 105 LoveU Mar 13th, 2008 at 9:41 am

Another Beatles night next week is only a plus if the intended theme were originally Gloria Estefan. I have yet to see anyone perform well on those type of nights.

It seems unfair as everyone has already picked his/her best choice.

Having Kat sing “Something” was a bad decision.

  6. 106 JJ Mar 13th, 2008 at 10:04 am

I thought Kat was pretty awful last night. She was flat in spots and I still find her voice annoying.

I will vote for ANYONE (well excpet for Kristy Lee) who does Rocky Raccoon.

I agree that I think A Day in the Life could be Michaels breakout performance. He hasn’t been singing that well lately, but damn, he is still hot.

  7. 107 Allison Mar 13th, 2008 at 10:25 am

I’m disgusted that Kristy is still around to torture us again next week.
Also not too jazzed about a repeat theme.

  8. 108 sciencefan Mar 13th, 2008 at 10:28 am

Don’t forget - according to Ryan, it was because of calls from fans that they decided to do another Beatles Night. Oh really? Which fans? Maybe they should have specified, “in a few weeks from now”.

I was a Kat fan that year, but last night I was reminded that it was only because she was the lesser of the evils. I didn’t “love” anyone that year. Kat has an indistinct voice. If I heard her on the radio, I would not recognize it was her. She sounds just the same as a hundred beauty pageant contestants. She was pretty and her notes were perfect, but she forgot to smile, and she didn’t even know the right words! What’s the matter?! Don’t they look up the words?!

btw: David H. did that too.
WAY beyond compare - not FAR beyond!
He sang, “it was plain to see” - instead of “I, I could see”
No! No! No! You can’t do that David!
Hope he gets a singing job. It would be a shame if he had to go back to stripping to make a living.

Jason run up the stairs and run back down - yes, that was perplexing. Jason is very charming and has the fresh sound that seems so stylish right now. I’m glad to see so many fans here. One thing interesting about his AI video is that he had only performed 5 times in public before he started on AI. He’s a real sweetheart. I hope we get to see a lot of him. I would definitely buy one of his albums.

OMG!! Please don’t restart the wars. That was amazing. She is stunning, her voice is stunning. I’m literally shaking. There was SO much emotion in that song, her notes were fabulous. Everything was so great. She looked so happy. Ugh, love her.

It’s funny how one person can be entranced, and another is left cold. I thought Kat was alright, but she didn’t seem to connect to the song IMO. Didn’t she botch the lyrics? Her face is pretty, but the short skirt shrieks “I’m SEXY”. She would have been more classy with more coverage.

  10. 110 Allison Mar 13th, 2008 at 10:33 am

HATED the phone call part. Was it only me that noticed the conveniently(grant it, I didn’t see the question) seem to skip over the “older” fans question(who was 50) and go towards the more younger questions? Or was that just me that noticed?

No I noticed it right away, too. Way to go Idol discounting adult viewers.

  11. 111 Ladybug Mar 13th, 2008 at 10:35 am

Having Kat sing “Something” was a bad decision.

    Agreed.

I think we are seeing our future bottom 2/3 with the 2 who remained last night plus ??? (insert bad performer here, except David Archuleta). They will have to deliver killer performances to climb up out of there. I did not see a single surprise last night.

I don’t know how I feel about another Beatles week, but better that than disco. And if it will keep any and all Whitney at bay, that is not entirely a bad thing.

  12. 112 sciencefan Mar 13th, 2008 at 10:40 am

“I don’t know how I feel about another Beatles week, but better that than disco. And if it will keep any and all Whitney at bay, that is not entirely a bad thing.”

    tee-hee
When you put it THAT way, I agree!

  13. 113 JJ Mar 13th, 2008 at 10:41 am

I really like Jason Castro’s voice, it is very soothing. I just realized who he reminds me of, he reminds me of Jack Johnson. I actually put Jack Johnson CD’s on in the car because the kids don’t fight or aruge when they are on. (I’m not kidding, his voice is soothing).

I think Jason is starting to fall into a trap, everything he does is very soft. Jack Johnson songs are soothing, but tend to be a bit peppier. If it ever fits into a theme, I would like to see him to any of the following:

Better Together is one of my favorites.

And yes, Jason needs to do a more upbeat song next.

  15. 115 ericalina Mar 13th, 2008 at 11:03 am

Her face is pretty, but the short skirt shrieks “I’m SEXY”. She would have been more classy with more coverage.

Kat was never known for her ability to cover up. She also could have done better than a ponytail with a cocktail dress, but that is neither here nor there. I was reminded last night why I never voted for her — zero connection. I thought Carrie Underwood was robotic back in the day! Kat puts her to shame.

  16. 116 geekygirl Mar 13th, 2008 at 11:19 am

Watched the clips, shame David H didn’t deserve to go yet. Interesting that any of the males that have been openingly gay or setting off gaydar are gone. I thought David had a great voice but was pretty crap at picking songs.

And laughing at the group song, more Like Michael Lee and his backup singers! lol

  17. 117 beesims Mar 13th, 2008 at 11:52 am

And laughing at the group song, more Like Michael Lee and his backup singers! lol

Did anyone else notice the huge droplet of sweat that came flying off Michael’s face during the group sing? If he sweats this much during Idol, imagine the buckets he must be shedding during tennis or footie.

Having Kat sing “Something” was a bad decision.

In your opinion, I thought she was fabulous. Katharine is anything but robotic, she was putting an emotion into what she was doing, she was trying to express the sincerity of the song. I can’t argue with how you all feel, but Katharine has done some really amazing performances that are FULL of personality and fun and emotions. She is an amazing person as well as perfomer. I think as non-kat fans you all have missed out on some of the things that she has done. Amazing, Amazing things. Not just professionally, but personally too. I really wish some of you knew what kind of person she really is. It’s a shame that you will never know, but to each his own. I’m just so happy that I am a Mcphan. There is so much more to come and I can’t wait for it. :smile1_tb: :wub_tb:

I’d like Jason to do some Tracy Chapman —

Baby, Can I Hold You — not all puppy and rainbows

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kjRo_CHSdt0&feature=related

    or my fav, The Promise

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ISSTz1xxdRw

He could spice it up and I have to say Randy is so stuck — I love how Jason floats the notes.

  24. 124 carolina Mar 13th, 2008 at 1:05 pm

JJ - I noticed that as well!~ heh.

NannyMcPhee, I have to give you props for always staying on task!

  25. 125 ParticleHustler Mar 13th, 2008 at 1:09 pm

Since the worst thing about this show is the music, any chance I have of them performing music I actually like is fine with me.

I hope Amanda does Helter Skelter, and I really think Brooke could do a fantastic job with Norwegian Wood.

  26. 126 purplesmile Mar 13th, 2008 at 1:20 pm

Purps, you know I have your back. :-)

I already have a copy of the full version of If I Fell! Yay! I love, love it! Thanks for offering to get it for me, pj. :)

I also love MJ’s Across The Universe. I am officially a fan. I really like his voice.

NannyMcPhee, I have to give you props for always staying on task!

Thanks Carolina, I just look at it as my job as a fan. It pains me to see some of these things written here, but instead of getting all defensive I’m just going to give my opinions on why I think Katharine is so fabulous, just like most of you give your opinions on how you think she isn’t. :cry_wp:

I didn’t get to see the results show, so thanks for the great, very detailed recap, mj. :)

I really wish some of you knew what kind of person she really is. It’s a shame that you will never know, but to each his own.

Nanny, I could care less what kind of person she is. It really doesn’t matter. It has nothing to do with her singing.

I feel the same way about all the other Idols.

  30. 130 Nanny Mcphee Mar 13th, 2008 at 2:13 pm

Nanny, I could care less what kind of person she is. It really doesn’t matter. It has nothing to do with her singing.

I was really just addressing the people that think Kat is some kind of shallow, selfish, vapid bitch. None of which are true. She does amazing things for other people, she’s opening Katharine Mcphee’s school for girls in Africa sometime in the next year. Sexy Hair gave her a check for 10k to go towards it, there are just a lot of things about her that people who think she’s such an awful person for making fun of Meatloaf or giggling when someone made fun of Elliott’s teeth don’t know about her. That’s all I was trying to point out. As far as all of the other idols go they don’t get bashed constantly over here. EVER. So like I said I’m just being a fan and letting people know that Katharine Mcphee is a good person. Her singing is up to the individual that is listening to it. I’m not trying to make anyone love her singing like I do, but I can state my opinions on how I feel about it.

That’s not breaking any guidelines is it?????

  31. 131 mj Mar 13th, 2008 at 2:18 pm

That’s not breaking any guidelines is it?????

Technically no. But the defending is OTT, and it’s becoming too much. You’ve made your point, several times.

I was really just addressing the people that think Kat is some kind of shallow, selfish, vapid bitch.

Every comment in this thread about Kat has addressed her performance on the show. The criticism has been reasonable.

This site is not designed for the intensely-invested fan. Vociferously defending your favorite everytime someone says something negative about her becomes pointless after awhile, and not that interesting to read.

I would suggest letting it be for now.

  32. 132 Nanny Mcphee Mar 13th, 2008 at 2:40 pm

You’ve made your point, several times.

4 times!!! I’ve talked about Kat and her performance 4 times, once or twice before she even performed and then twice after she performed, everyone else in here has stated several times how they didn’t like it and how Taylor’s was better and it was a big mistake, the same people too, saying the same things!!!!! How am I different from those people? Just forget it. I’ll stop now.

It has been a lot more civil than usual though I will admit that, some non-fans actually enjoyed it. Every conversation I have had has been civil, until now, because for some reason I annoyed you, but I guess that’s all that really matters, it’s your blog after all.

  33. 133 carolina Mar 13th, 2008 at 3:19 pm

Kat is opening a school for girls in Africa? She’s copying Oprah?

I hope she has tons more money than $10,000.00.

Really, I find that OTT. Why not start a nice day care in Watts for the local needy children. That would be actually do-able.

  34. 134 Nanny Mcphee Mar 13th, 2008 at 3:39 pm

It’s a new charity she’s involved with. Her peeps she models hair products for gave her 10 grand to go towards it. It was all announced at the American Beauty show where she was a model. I’m not sure of all the details, but their is a youtube video with the announcement. The video also has an upcoming album announcement too. I won’t even bother posting it though. I’ll just wait for it to come up in a blog or on some program, then maybe. MAYBE. it might get posted here.

The show last night left me cold. Every song and event made me comment out loud “That’s not right”. Before the end of the hour, people had to “shut me up”. I’m not blaming the kids, only the producers.

Carly’s failure to look at Michael even once during the group song when it was appropriate to do so: That’s not right.

Katharine’s dress and performance: That’s not right.

Squandering the opportunity to use Jason’s talents effectively: That’s not right.

David Hernandez leaving before Top 10: That’s not right.

Thanks for the recap, MJ. Ruben’s song…”Celebrate Me Home”…I’ve heard that before. Did Clay Aiken sing it? Anyone know?

I won’t even bother posting it though. I’ll just wait for it to come up in a blog or on some program, then maybe. MAYBE. it might get posted here.

Nanny, this is what I’m talking about. Just accept that there are people here who don’t like Katharine, and keep the sarcasm out of it.

I have to say, the “fan crusaders” who drop by here just to defend their favorites…I don’t understand. And I don’t really like it. This blog is what it is. If what you read here makes you angry, It’s probably not the place for you.

So here is the thing. You can say all the positive things about Katharine that you want. But, please, leave it at that. Don’t judge or make comments about people’s opinions e.g.: wishing out loud that they felt differently, saying you feel sorry for them because they don’t see what you see, or that the negative remarks upset you. Maybe I’m not making myself clear when I mod you, but THAT’S the sort of thing that annoys me, and it really is against the guidelines.

And yes, it is my blog. It stops here. No more arguing the point with me.

Okay so I just watched the show in full (darn midterms!)…

Kristy Lee Cook isn’t too annoying. Also, I’m saying this after having stayed up LATE, but she doesn’t have a bad voice. I actually watched through the whole performance.

On the other hand, all the cross promotio IS annoying.

I found the Kat and David Foster collaboration a little disturbing. Oh and her dress…those lucky ones in the mosh pit sure got more than they were asking for.

The call in questions were LAME. Paula is a girl, uh, and Randy’s shoes and Simon’s v-neck??? Wha?? Sometimes, Jason rivals Paula in loopiness, but they’re cute. Both of them.

I feel bad for David H., but hopefully, those TMZ rumors are correct.

Now it’s back to checking iTunes 100 times a day until the show starts again next Tuesday! (I need help….)

    CHEERS everybody!

He sure did! Someone posted Clay’s version in the comments when news about Ruben doing the boot song just came out.

On a side note, MJ, it’s funny how excited you sound in your comments about the group sing. I’m glad one person enjoyed it! :D

“Celebrate Me Home” is also a famous Kenny Loggins song from 1976. They play it a lot at Christmas time.

That is NOT at all what I am. You don’t have to worry about me annoying you anymore as this will be my last post here.

    Peace, Love and Mcphee. :bye_tb:

I enjoy the group sings a whole lot more than the cross promotion and those idiotic phone calls! I also noticed the blatant disregard of the 50 year old caller. Nothing like sending a large portion of your audience the message that you can’t be bothered with them.

I think I read here that next week’s theme was supposed to be the “year you were born” theme. I’d much rather have that and save a second Beatles week for later. But does AI know how to do anything subltly or with finesse?

Still really disappointed Hernandez is gone so soon….I think he was VASTLY underrated…..he sorta reminded me of Elliott only his voice was more “smooth” and with less vibrato….plus, he was actually a much better stage presence than Elliott was….should’ve made it way past #12….

I’m sorry but David H. was far too cheezy. I kept expecting jazz hands at any moment.

Not that Kristy should still be there, because she has sucked consistently throughout the competition thus far. The only way she could hope to do well is if they let her sing “Amazing Grace” every single week.
