Nomi = I agree with 90% of your post. I still like Archie’s voice more than the others but his song choices and the Dad have affected my interest in him. Actually, his love for the divas gives me hope that post Idol and in a few years, he might put out some good r&B. But he may go the Christian music route. I have no idea..
David Cook is a perfectly respectable winner. He has also has the best shot of selling the platinum albums you need to not be labeled a failure after you win this thing. I won’t be buying his album though, just not my thang.
That stupid pirate joke is making me laugh way too hard. Between that and the joke Michael said that time on AI Extra about watching paint dry I’m tryimg to imagine the two of them on tour driving everyone crazy with bad jokes.
Yeah, I do think Cookie has played the game best, and deserves the win. I wouldn’t mind Archie either, though he’s not may favorite. I think even though he can be called boring, he has delivered consistently good vocals. Syesha doesn’t deserve the win to me (took her too long to hit her stride, IMO), but she could go as high as 3rd - maybe even 2nd - and I wouldn’t be mad. Ditto Jason.
Now, Back OT - THIS is the kind of stuff they should play at the hour long results shows, instead of the stupid Q&A session. They were all so cute in those videos, and you get a sense of their actual personalities.
I share that over-my-shoulder peeve with Syesha, too - particularly when it’s my boss, and he’s hindering me from getting my “blog fix” for the day.
I just did some more clean-up in this thread.

Random Observation: When Syesha wears her hair afro-style, she’s stunningly gorgeous. That style suits her face so well. When she straightens it, she’s just another somewhat generic pretty girl. Syesha - put away the flat iron!
I found that EW bit about Dad Archuleta disturbing. Why the f is that guy even there when his son is working? I guess it’s because he’s a minor, but I seriously doubt Jordin’s parents were anywhere near that involved. Little David should grow some balls and tell his dad to stick it.

on a separate note - what I read about DA’s father on EW was disturbing. I think that kid is under alot of stress - mostly from his dad. It scares me that he says he has a hard time expressing himself. I think we know why - he’s not aloud to.

Gray- DC’s fav performance was MOTN because he knew everyone expected him to “spin it in its head” And he wanted to prove that he could sing like that as well.
Yeah, I can’t get angry at this kid. I have a deep well of sympathy for him.
Considering the dad situation, I think David A would actually be best off if he won. Only because I think the 19 machine will run right over stage-daddy and give Archie a little breathing room.
That said of course, I plan to do whatever I can not to let that happen. Sorry Davie :)
