   An attractive, diverse bunch as far as I can tell. However,if AI is now about recycled reality show winners and Grammy nominees, its lost its way big time. It’s still supposed to be Cinderella and even if that’s not really true, we need to feel it is. I guess they really ran out of amateur talent and are going pro/semi pro now. I know some of the amateurs in the past “weren’t” but with this crew they can’t even pretend anymore.

   I’m not saying it will happen, but all it takes is one Cinderella-story amateur winning to make it all worth it.

   okay, I’ll try not to get too (pre)excited since that always seems to jinx my favorites, but I do like several out of this bunch so far, and I like seeing several Floridians represented. I think I saw an Idol commercial with that Syesha chick last night. though her hair looked much shorter.
   From reading a few of the comments on the “alleged” contestants’ myspaces, I saw that these two seemed to have been in Hollywood too:

   Basing this totally on the pictures and a few random blogspots. Brandon Green gives me a Jon Peter Lewis vibe at first glance, which for me would be a good thing for me. I will still admit to being a Jon Peter Lewis fan, even now. For some reason, I am thinking I have heard of Green and liked his music, but I could be thinking of another person with the name, or I could be totally confused too. It has been known to happen. I am always thinking that people seem familiar.

   I hate to like people for reasons that have nothing to do with music, but Cardin’s sense of humor puts her off to good start with me. I just hope her musical selection is as good as her sense of humor.

   I am one of the few people who skips over the introduction weeks, so this is enough to tie me over until the real competition begins in a few months.

   I like that Brandon Green is from Mississippi. And I like that there are some Florida girls in this group. Represent for us, Florida girls! ;)

   OK, awhile back, someone posted a MySpace link to some guy who was really good looking and had sort of a rough, appealing voice.

   I have no memory of his name, but is he one of these top 50?

   I thought he seemed very good and had the whole package, so-to-speak.

    She looks like Shannon Doherty so much, and that’s not a good thing..

    Im sticking with Jermaine Paul for now. hey, he’s from Upstate NY, I gotta be loyal to my boy. We’ll see. This bunch seems so much more polished than in previous years as a whole.

    An American Idol wants a recording contract, right? Receiving a Grammy nomination is something 99.9% of the contestants can only dream of. Seems to me, Jermaine Paul has achieved many goals of a professional singer. Not good.

    JPfan, I am with you. It is so exciting seeing an “unknown” grow and become a great contestant. Having so many semi-pros and even pros (like Tom last year and Jermaine) would put a tarnish on the whole show.

    I’m also liking Cardin.

    If TPTB are looking for the McPhee/Antonella type with brains, personality, humor, who knows some musical history, and has developed a performance identity, this could be her.

    But as we know, TPTB see all those qualities as a negative…
