simon messed it up for sundance when he dissed taylor..i liked sundance until simon said what he did now i won’t vote for him…i voted 3000 times for taylor last year but i won’t vote at all this year…there will never be another taylor. so simon can just shut his big mouth about him.

I’m not planning to vote this year - last year was the only time I actually voted for anyone, even though I always had favorites. I just never felt the urge to pick up the phone and vote - before Taylor Hicks, that is. I voted a few times for Elliott last year when I couldn’t get through for Taylor.

I’ll pick a few favorites this year, I’m sure, but I’m not voting again.

I’m chatting with myself now. Hmmmmm. All by myself alone. Darn chat room. :)

Let’s see if Sundance can do performances like this:

    Just saying.

Taylor Hicks’ songwriting collaboration with John Mayer failed to make it in his current album but will be in his next one. He said so in his response to a fan here in this video :

    Folks,

I am as much a Taylor Hicks fan as any Soul Patroler… but let’s give his Sundance kid a chance. It’s too early to really tell how far he’ll go. Heck we don’t even know if he made it to the top 24 yet.

A few minutes of auditions give us very little by which to judge.

  11. 611 Desdemona Jan 24th, 2007 at 12:19 am

I’m giving all of them a chance, LBB - just not voting for anyone. I think sundance has a great voice and imagine he’ll sail through several shows and several eliminations without being in the bottom three.

There have been three or four I’ve seen that had nice voices. I really liked the ‘backup singer’ tonight and hope she gains more confidence to show she’s better than backup!

  12. 612 Desdemona Jan 24th, 2007 at 12:22 am

g’nite anyone who might be around.

  13. 613 madaboutu Jan 24th, 2007 at 12:23 am

Little Boy Blue……….I say go ahead and vote your fingers off for Sundance if you like him. Or anyone else. But as for me, I never expected last year to turn out to be the way it did, and I feel that I have found someone that I really want to support. So I don’t feel the need to watch Idol like I did last year. Never had before anyway to that extent. I would rather spend the money I might give to the phone company this year on Taylor Hicks concerts and albums, and maybe on some other people I haven’t seen in concert in awhile.

American Idol Carrie Underwood: What Tony Romo Romance?

    By Jennifer Cox
    Jan 22, 2007

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo took the loss in the NFL playoffs to the Seattle Seahawks pretty hard. The rising NFL star took all the blame for the defeat as he botched the hold on what would have been the game-winning field goal. But his life is till pretty good as he has country music superstar and former American idol Carrie Underwood to fall back on - right?

Maybe not. According to the Tennessean, Carrie Underwood says her success has resulted in false rumors being reported in the press, including the report that she’s dating Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo.

    ***

“I have read some of the most ridiculous things about that,” she says of reports that she’s dating Tony. “The first time I ever met him was on Christmas, right there on the field. Everybody was like, ‘Ooh, they are together.’ And then I was blamed for Dallas not winning that game. . . . He is a very nice guy and I’ve talked to him a few times, but we are very much not together.”

The report in the newspaper notes that An Illinois newspaper reported that Tony said it was true that the two were dating. (Her publicist, who says Carrie is not dating anyone, presumes Romo was joking.)

    ***

“That was one person from one local newspaper that said that, so whether or not . . .,” Carrie says. “I’ve read ’sources said’ we met on Thanksgiving. I had no clue who he was at that time. He is probably getting a little tired of that one (the false rumor he was dating Jessica Simpson) and now he’s probably tired of this one, as I am.”

    Ouch!

    I hear ya.

I am so looking forward to that collaboration.
John is a very talented songwriter and I am hoping in the future they end up touring together.
Taylor could open for him, I get the feeling John really appreciates Taylor’s talent. JMHO.

Little boy, come on the guy will be on TOP 2 final night. Mark my words…
Whether he wins or not I don’t know but he is Simon’s favorite and that usually means you either win or at least get to Top 4 as Chris.
I don’t think he will rank lower than that they guy is a stand out ( not as much as Taylor) but he is unique enough to go ver far in the competition, that’s for sure.

I think Sundance is set for a recording career already. He impressed Simon, that’s all there is to it. I say Congrats Sundance!
But I am not voting, I already invested too much time voting last year for Taylor. He is the one for me.
    Why bother voting anyway?
Wven if Sundance doesen’t win he get a record deal with Clive. So don’t bother. He will be just fine.

Little Boy Blue - it’s Roy Head and he is known for a song called “Treat Her Right”- excellent song, btw!

Agree 100%. Simon tainted Sundance’s performance for me. He CERTAINLY wasn’t in Taylor’s league in any capacity, imo.

This non-stop sniping of Simon against Taylor at every opportunity ( whether it’s the gum, in Oprah or tonight ) must have a purpose ….

I remember Simon’s voting against Taylor during his audition and continous put downs during the show last year did nothing but HELP Taylor win.

Keep up the good work this season Simon…maybe your doing this will bring the entire country into Taylor’s corner once again and remind them of last season.

  22. 622 madaboutu Jan 24th, 2007 at 1:05 am

Little Boy……..I actually had a little thought in the darker recesses of my mind along the same lines as yours. It seems a little odd that first there was the Oprah remark, then Tay and Fantasia on the LKL with all kinds of love coming from Ryan and how they all say things they don’t mean and hate themselves when they watch it back. blahblahblah. Then Simon really disses Taylor with the gum and to me that was worse than any remark. Then Taylor has the vid about Simon carrying his golf bag and now Simon again with the remark that he knew would tick people off. I know I am just trying to make sense of it , and I don’t really trust anything that comes out of Hollywood.

  23. 623 squishy Jan 24th, 2007 at 1:07 am

I actually don’t think that people care what Simon says about Taylor. With all this sniping of Taylor from Simon, I don’t think that it has changed Taylor’s sales numbers.

  24. 624 madaboutu Jan 24th, 2007 at 1:10 am

Don’t know if it was posted over here but Lendie on GC says the clip of Taylor singing with the boys at the BHCC is on Kimmel tonite. Time enough for us on the west coast to watch at 12.

Just watched the SOTU and was wondering what in the world was wrong with Pelosi tonight ? She blinked continuously and her mouth looked as if she was chewing tobacco. And Hillary looked like an old grouch . I can’t fault Bill for his wandering when you look at that cold fish. Jeesh , at least look like you are warm blooded. :blink_tb:

  26. 626 madaboutu Jan 24th, 2007 at 1:31 am

cricket……….I think that was the last place any of those people wanted to be after a long day…..and not just Nancy and Hillary. Those speeches are always so boring and repititous.

Squishy - you have a PM at the AI boards.

  28. 628 squishy Jan 24th, 2007 at 1:49 am

I would join you all in the chat thread but I don’t know how to get there. I will ask MJ how I can join you all in the future.

I am not going to create havoc in the boards tomorrow at all. I am going to continue to do what I always do which is talk positive about Chris.

I don’t believe in talking bad about my fellow posters. It isn’t who I am.

It doesn’t bother me if you rip on Chris at all. Chris is having the last laugh so what ever is said doesn’t matter.

I enjoy this blog and will continue to post here.

I’m very amused by the Sundance/Taylor stuff.

Last week several were so quick to deem that Sarah Krueger girl who sang “OTR” as way better than Katharine. After a few seconds of a song clip.

Now Simon does it to Taylor, and we can’t tell anything by a few seconds of a song- Simon is wrong- his auditon is tainted, etc.

Does anyone else not see the hilarity and double standard in that?
