Looks like for most idols at least, trying to outdo their previous figures is quite a hill to climb.

A couple of questions– doesn’t Josh Gracin have another album? And, what about sales from outside the US? Kelly Clarkson’s My December went platinum in Canada. Is that because she sold/shipped 1 million copies there, or do they figure things differently? I’ve always wondered.

Thanks for posting these numbers, very interesting. I was especially surprised at Josh’s numbers, had no idea his debut sold that well. According to Billboard, it is his only album to date: http://www.billboard.com/bbcom/discography/index.jsp?pid=515163&aid=633416

According to Wikipedia “His second album (tentatively titled I Keep Coming Back) was slated for release in mid-2006, but due to poor performance of its singles, the album’s release has been repeatedly moved back.”

Josh Gracin’s second album was supposed to come out back in 2006, but keeps getting delayed despite the release of new singles from it.

Platinum in Canada is 100,000 copies.
