So I’ve decided that I’m not turning on Idol Is a Bloated Sow…excuse me, Idol Gives Back until about 9:15, so I can FF through all the boring parts. Eh, what’s one more viewing of Superman Returns in the meantime? I’m on a hot guys kick. Mmm…Brandon Routh. :-)
I hope Chris stays tonite and Lakisha goes. I have Melinda and Jordin for the girl powerhouses. I want to have one more week of CHRIS!

Here are the SoundScan sales numbers for various Idols’ debut albums at the 12-week mark:
Clay: 2,153,709
Carrie: 2,015,930
Chris: 1,525,628
Ruben: 1,481,294
Kelly: 1,221,654
Fantasia: 981,651
Taylor: 647,519
Kellie: 386,509
Katharine: 305,478
I believe he was asking about sales in the 12th week of idol runner-ups, not winners.
I can’t seem to edit, I realize they aren’t all winners listed there, but that’s what Dave was asking about, 2nd place finishers and their #’s after 12 weeks.
Um, dave? They did have downloads for sale on the scary board for AI5, both audio and video of the performances. I bought 18 audio tracks and 8 videos, and spent a total of $35.73.
So far, I’ve bought 12 audios and 2 videos for AI6.
Ok again Nevada thanks for all this info, but can we have the sales#’s of the idol runner ups, not just random idols.

Justin Guarini’s numbers are nearly impossible to come by, but his first week’s sales were reportedly 57k and at last report, the album had sold a total of 142,462 copies. Did he sell that in 12 weeks? No one knows.
Clay’s numbers at the 12-week mark were 2,153,709.
Diana DeGarmo’s numbers are also difficult to locate, but her first week’s sales were 47k and at the 8 week mark, Billboard reported her sales at 125,000. At last report — on May 16, 2006 — the album had sold 164,000 copies.
Bo Bice’s sales at the 12-week mark were 553,267 according to SoundScan.
SO:
Clay: 2,153,709
Bo: 553,267
Katharine: 305,478
Diana: between 125,000 & 164,000
Justin: between 57,000 & 142,462
And for the record, they aren’t “random idols.” They are Idols who have managed to hang in on the sales charts long enough to have sales totals for 12 weeks.

Kat is third for 2nd place finishers and 5th for all non winners so far as Chris and Kellie Pickler have sold more CDs. Let’s see how Bucky and Elliott fare by the time they hit week 12 also. The only idol non winners she’s done better then are Justin and Diana.
Gee, maybe *** will move up a list and come in first place if the criteria for numbers is something like “what are the sales for all second place AI contestants whose initials are KM?

Well, they had to give the illusion of “SHOCKER ELIMINATION” for a the last few seconds. In order to do that, they’d have to pair up Chris with either Melinda or Jordin, especially since Simon has now predicted those two to be in the finale.

I’m amazed that Kellie is outselling Kat. Seems like poetic justice for the snarky remark she made about her bff. Kellie sure was a good sport to not hold that against her. I have a whole new appreciation for Kellie’s post idol career. She seemed scripted on the show, but off the show, she is hilarious.
