Actually Boulder is the extroveted fan that every artist deserves. You should have seen Bobby’s face light up when she asked him for autographs for you guys. It was so cute.

MJ, are you liking your new home? Noticed all Lisa B’s news was front page this morning, thanks to the ‘early’ threads.
Yeah, I do. The early threads: The morning threads are automated by email. Pretty cool, eh? :).

I never thought I would say this; but I am really beginning
to dislike “The Runaround.”
Heh, the first step is admitting it.
A lot of people are saying this the past couple of days. Makes me think that there were quite a few (like me) who didn’t care for it in the first place. I suspect many didn’t bother to say anything because the rah-rah for it as the promo song was so strong. I remember the few negative comments made in the beginning were quickly slapped down.
Juvenile lyrics (different from cheesy or simplistic), lacking a verse, not the best key for Taylor, made me tire of it quickly. I can see it being modified and raved up for live performances with some success, but as recorded and performed now - meh. Notably, the band he has now can’t give the song the weight it needs live, IMO. I’ve viewed too many performances of it now to blame it on the feed.
The music in my collection that I always go back to no matter how much time has passed is stuff I never actually grew bored with to begin with. What I did find to like on this CD, for the most part, I grew tired of very quickly.

Thanks Fred. I thought there was something wrong with me.
Not a bad CD for 6 weeks work, I suppose. If we are spilling
our guts, I must repeat once again that the Monkey Dance is getting
old real fast. If he loses one single fan due to his dancing, I say
that is ‘one single fan loss’ too many.
I was poking around in ASCAP and some details about the new Idol tunes are coming out.
Some interesting tidbits:
1) Chris Daughtry is listed as the performer for “It’s Not Over”. Ace Young is one of the credited writers (wasn’t it “Brett Young” on the CD liner notes….why would it be “Brett”?). Publishers are EMI APRIL MUSIC INC and G WATT MUSIC/EMI APRIL MUSIC
2) Chris Daughtry is also listed as the performer for “All These Lives” which is published by IT BURNS WHEN I PEE MUSIC. Seriously.
3) Daughtry is the performer for “Crashed”. Not Chris Daughtry (though he is a co-writer). No publisher information.
4) The only new Taylor Hicks song listed is “Places I’ve Been”.
5) Four of Kellie Pickler’s songs are listed. “Girls Like Me”, “I’m on My Way”, “Life’s Too Short” and “Red High Heels”. “Life’s Too Short” is not listed as one of the tracks on her album.
6) Two of Kat’s new songs are listed. “Better Off Alone” and “Over It”.

MJ - Are you still here? I have a ques.
Yes, I’m here…
I like the Runaround, but I’ve seen it performed so many times, I’m getting a little sick of it. Did not like the Orange Bowl version. Liked the Leno version, however. I hope he really raves it up for the tour. It has the potential to be a great live number.
I miss Greg House. I miss Jack Bauer. I miss Apollo and Starbuck. I miss Hiro and the cheerleader……………………hurry please. Oh and maybe Simon, a little bit.
I suspect many didn’t bother to say anything because the rah-rah for it as the promo song was so strong. I remember the few negative comments made in the beginning were quickly slapped down.
Right Said Fred or Fred as I like to call you. You are so right about the Runaround and its lyrics. I haed that song but I gotta say I loved his leno performance of it. Thats all I loved about it.
The only song on that CD that sounds like Taylor and captures his whole persona, for ME, was The Right Place. I love WILMH and Soul Thing as well but it was The Right Place that reminded me why I got a “thang” for the guy in the first place.
Now that I have Taylor’s CD and am listening to it a lot - I have to agree that Runaround is not appealing to me anymore. Seeing the half time performance at Orange Bowl was very - meh - I blamed the sound mix - but I think Fred is right - I think the song was UNDERPLAYED by the band and the dancing is likely to turn new fans away. I prefer Heaven Knows and Give Me Tonight. I think either of those two could make it as radio hits and wish he wouldn’t keep promoting Runaround.
Last night I tried to get my son to hear him and make him a fan - but it didn’t take. Sawry. He likes Daughtry, tho. He loaded his music onto his system. This is my 30 year old son who was visiting - and never heard any of last year’s idols before. I sure wish I had exposed him to Elliott and seen his reaction. Well - he’s on a plane heading home now so I lost my chance.
Wow. Elliott is releasing a self produced single. He defnitely has No record deal. What a disappointment. I’m sad about it but Paris is going the same way. I honestly don’t see how selling a few thousand singles to his fans is even going to generate any income for him.
I guess he’ll finance his own album, tour a bit and then what? Boy what a bummer Season 5 has turned into. Wonder what happens when he runs through all his $? I guess he and Ace are in the same boat.
MaryR: And Kirsten, IMHO, Bobby would be LUCKY to have a fabulous stalker like me!!!!
He sure would!

Just sing the damn song, Taylor. :)
I love the dancing and like the CD. :)

Does anyone else have a titch of trouble with the page sticking and not wanting to move with the scrollbar? Or perhaps, I’m just challenged.
Just saw a tennis shoe with GPS tracking system in it. Interesting.

weelassie: “24″ and “Heroes” will be on at the same time.
Which one are you watching? Me, I’ll watch “24″ live and download “Heroes”

I can’t help but wonder if Elliott is getting good advice from his cousin and the Firm or if he’s even getting any.
Thursday thread open.
