That’s great Taylor is looking Hollywood thin… I say, Good for him. His double chin is almost gone… That’s a step forward..

Now… if only his hair could be gelled at all times… Just saying..
Taylor, call me! I will gell you in no time at all.. I am telling you can hire me as your personal hair stylist..

Honestly, the gel thing only takes two seconds, I do it every day for my 3 year old son.. He loves it! And he looks really cute.. :wink1_tb:

The reason I really like Taylor’s cd is that you actually know it is Taylor who is singing it:) They didn’t over produce the crap out of it. I like knowing who is singing. Guess that is why I like James Taylor, Steve Perry, Van Morrison…………good voices and you know it’s them singing. That’s why I don’t like Britney, Paris, Jessica, who knows if they can even sing…….they all sound the same, over produced, electronic chipmunks. That is why I will take a pass on Kat’s cd……can’t even tell it is her.

    madaboutu ,
I am charting the highways as we speak. I have the tour schedule
I’m checking the co-ordinates and have scoured the garage for leftover paint. One problem ; it’s so cold the paint will freeze before it ever hits the canvas and if you’re driving along the highway and see what looks like a purple popsicle ” that’s me .” Oh if Ana would just come back and help , we could cover twice as much territory. Remember the war cry ” GEL LIKE HELL !” :smiley2_tb:

    cricket

I sooooooooooo miss Ana. wonder if anyone knows how to contact her. she is surely missed.

  6. 756 madaboutu Feb 8th, 2007 at 12:33 am

cricket……….you have to enlist the help of katja and her purple bus LOL. Ana shows up on GC now and again but she is very subdued, and I don’t think she would ever get into her gel posts again. Too bad! Not funny is your cold spell. I feel for you and anyone enduring it. My brother lives in Nebraska and for the last couple of weeks the high was in the single digits until the other day when it finally went up to 20.

  7. 757 cricket Feb 8th, 2007 at 12:40 am

katja and her purple bus , me and my purple coat , now if we can recruit Barney …………mmmm sounds like a plan.

Re Taylor’s interview on the Baltimore station — love the way he says:

“Ah think she’s got some good stuff”! He’s so cute.

Cheers Everybody, Cheers! GO TAYLOR GO

  9. 759 BigTayFan Feb 8th, 2007 at 12:43 am

Folks, Ana already revealed her “secret” identity last night at the chat. Read the top post of this page and see if it sounds familiar ;-)

  10. 760 Laurel Feb 8th, 2007 at 12:48 am

^^ I’d always thought it was a badly kept secret on this blog. ;) No one else talks about gelled Taylor and John Mayer just as often. No one. Those were the tells.

  11. 761 madaboutu Feb 8th, 2007 at 12:49 am

Is it true maracaibo? And were you also once hicksmayer? You can tell us.

  12. 762 BigTayFan Feb 8th, 2007 at 12:52 am

    Goodnight everyone.

another long time lurker, first time poster looking for somewhere new to post.

It took me so long to figure out the username and password I registered with when the blog started that maybe no one will care about this anymore, but I read a post about Hickory Records so here’s what I know. Sony/ATV (not Sony BMG) bought Hickory Records. Hickory Records website links right into Sony/ATV where there’s an article about Elliott’s cd under “news” (but I think this has all been posted already).

    http://www.hickoryrecords.com/

according to an article I read today, this is just the beginning of Sony/ATV getting involved in recording.

    http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,250605,00.html

so I think Elliott has his ‘own’ label since as far as I can tell, he’s the only one on it!! it’s all confusing, but he’s getting some music out there and that’s all I care about!!

so now I have to figure out how to post and still keep up with all the other posts. wonder if anyone is still here.

  14. 764 judy Feb 8th, 2007 at 1:09 am

guess no one is here - maybe you’re all ignoring me - maybe I’m just paranoid. I’ll try again sometime. good night

  15. 765 Ging Feb 8th, 2007 at 1:20 am

Judy…I just read…I think everyone else is gone for the night.

Who knows if ANY of them- including Kelly Clarkson- will be a household name still in 5-10 years.

It has been 4 1/2 years since Kelly won AI. And, she IS a household name. And if she’s not known in some households, this new endorsement deal with NASCAR will make pretty damn sure that her name will be out there even more than it is now. Not only that, she has two Grammy’s under her belt.

Katharine and the rest of the AI5 crew are still just beginning. They are where Kelly was 4 1/2 years ago, but with a LOT more publicity (thanks to Kelly’s success) and respect (thanks to Kelly’s success). THEY still have to prove themselves. Kelly has already STARTED on that journey and has already BEEN proving herself.

I realize it’s still way early in her career, but don’t compare their careers now to Kelly’s career now please. She has worked her ass off the past 4 1/2 years to get to where she is today, and the reason the rest of the people are having success is because of her. If she hadn’t won and validated the show with her success, AI would not be what it is now, IMO.

welcome, Botay! you came to the right place!

cricket, i don’t buy Country much, with the exception of brad paisely (always) and once in a while someone on the bluegrass side of things. he is a truly awesome guitarist and a great songwriter. i’m a fan. i can’t wait to see him this summer with kellie pickler. i was so glad that he chose her to go on that tour. i like her, and she’s gotta be totally stoked. it’s a real honor. he puts on a great show. and he and his wife seem like really nice people, too.

those taylor clips really buoyed my spirits. he sounds and looks great! i love humble, charming taylor! yay! and i must be the only person on earth who is pro-bangs.

Sony/ATV may very well be getting into the album business, but the fact is, Sony/ATV is primarily a MUSIC PUBLISHER. Being signed to a publishing contract at Sony/ATV is in no way equivalent to being signed to Arista or J Records or RCA or any other established Sony BMG label.

weelassie……….hey. Do you watch Jimmy Kimmel? He apparently asked Kat if she wouldn’t like to have a song on her album called FU Taylor Hicks. It is too early for me to watch it but someone else had.

I hate to go off topic, but seeing DIAB live was absolutely monumental. That is all.

    Pretty straight forward to me.

    Hey mad,
i don’t watch jimmy kimmel but i sure hope she didn’t stick her foot in her mouth. she is known for it. she needs to watch Ace and see how it is done. The guy is amazing and so diplomatic. I never thought for one second that Kat would win AI so I don’t know why she should be upset with Taylor. I think Taylor, Elliott, Chris, Mandisa, and Paris were all better than Kat. Thought she was top 10 material but not top 2. You would hope she would count her blessings and be gracious.

    Sarah:

I think you misunderstood my post. I meant in 5-10 more years it remains to be seen if any of them will still be around.

I am not denying Kelly’s success and how she has worked for it. I am a big fan of hers.

And yes, her success, validated AI, but it remains to be seen how many good years AI even has left.

That was the point I was trying to make anyway.
