Jory Steinberg is rumored to not have made the Top 24. I’m guessing Simon is referring to Melinda Doolittle.

Jory Steinberg is rumored to not have made the Top 24.

The NY POST must be wrong then because they quoted her hometown paper as saying :

According to her hometown paper, Jory has made the semi-finalist round of 24 as the competition progresses behind closed doors in Hollywood.”

    See here :

It would be a shame if they bypassed her.

I remember one VERY GOOD singer in Season 3 who was by-passed in favor of lesser talents like Leah Labelle and Camille Velasco — a singer named Lisa Leuschner ( who sounded like KellY Clarkson ).

Jory Steinberg is the most record ready of the lot.

The older gentleman was correct , he was a winner tonight. The rest meh !
I’m not liking the Steinberg gal much . The gal who was a backup singer , if she comes out of her shell she will go far. Her voice was fantastic. Sligh is a charmer. I hope to see both of them in the finals.
The problem is Simon , if its a pretty girl with boobage he gets smitten (example=*** ). Did you all notice how he perked up tonight when the cute girl sang ? She wasn’t that good and he made up his mind immediately to pass her on through.

LOL Chris Sligh’s band, Half Past Forever, has a video out on Youtube, posted today. People are starting to learn how to use the machine. More power to them!

Katharine McPhee goes ‘girly’ on debut CD

    Excerpts:

AP: How does working in the studio compare to musical theater?

McPhee: With musical theater, it’s so much easier to obviously connect with what you’re singing about because you have a live audience and you’re getting energy from them. When you’re in the studio it’s so easy to just kind of be singing the lines, having no emotion behind it. … That was something that I had to learn in the recording studio, that I had to not only just sing it and make it sound pretty but that the emotion had to carry through.

AP: Your image is much sexier now. Was that intentional?

McPhee: We didn’t think, with this kind of music, a long gown was going to mix well together. That’s definitely a part of me. What girly girl doesn’t want to get dressed up and go to the prom and look beautiful? But for this kind of music, it was more the side of me who’s a typical day-to-day jeans and T-shirt kind of girl with some cute high heels and a ponytail. The cover of the album is pushing the envelope. It’s always about wanting to get people’s attention and making a statement. You won’t see me walking down the street with thigh-high boots and a little short shirt, but you’ll definitely see a little bit more of the more comfortable Katharine.

Elliott Yamin’s self-titled debut will be released on March 20

And while artists like Fall Out Boy and Justin Timberlake have album titles like “Under the Cork Tree” and “FutureSex/LoveSounds,” look for a simpler name… “Elliott Yamin.”

Brandon Crowe, administrator for Etrainstation.com, says, “It’s gonna be a little different than what from people are expecting – in a good way. It’s still Elliott, but he’s mixing it up a little. Expect some modern sound without too much overproduction – it sounds great!”
