White House Correspondents Dinner

The Annual White House Correspondents dinner was last night.  Sanjaya Malakar attended, but he wasn’t the only Idol there.  Chris Sligh was  there too, a guest of the Christian Broadcasting Network.

Rich Little was the featured comedian, returning to the dinner after 23 years.  Little is well known (well old people know who he is–he was a regular on the Ed Sullivan, and other variety shows back in the day)  for his impersonations, including many of presidents over the years.

C-span covered the event.  Check your local listings for a repeat of the broadcast.

ETA:  Chris and Sanjaya arriving at the event. More Chris and SanjayaThanks Kirsten.

That must have been interesting for both of them. I’m looking forward to reading Chris S’s comments on his blog.

I was shocked when I heard Rich Little was heading up this year’s dinner. I haven’t seen or heard of him in over 20 years or so! From what I read this morning, he didn’t make a very good impression last night. People said they felt as if they were back in the 80’s. Sounded like a pretty somber evening overall which is definitely a departure from the norm.

I am sure it was a thrill for Chris and Sanjaya though!

This morning I watched some footage from last nights dinner on MSNBC.I was shocked with Rich Little’s performance. He has definitely lost his edge with the public. Both Chris, and Sanjaya looked handsome in their Sunday Duds! On the You Tube footage the lady announcer pronounced Chris Slighs(Sleigh) name wrong, leaves a bad taste in my mouth when a professional can’t pronounce a name correctly. :nono_tb:
The AI contestants these days are really getting a log of media time. :exclaim_ee: Way to go guys.
