I don’t get why they want to press everyone in the pop charts.
There are several acts out there that are very successful outside following the main stream hit radio and some of them managed by Simon.

I like the quality of Archie’s voice a little better….. (btw, I didn’t watch AI last season and don’t feel the level of emotional connection to The Davids as many here do)…

Joe and DA have been constantly compared and they sang the same Elton John’s song.

To me, Joe’s voice is too pretty, thin and light-weighted without texture or depth. But he has been consistent and better than most of his older competitors. I think Joe, Olly and the horrible twins will be top 3.

The only other ones I find entertaining are Jedward … they’re bright little rays of sunshine in a very dull year … I just wish they woud come on stage tomorrow night on the results show and be Subo’s backing dancers. She’ll be belting out “Wild Horses” … and they can be running around in the background on hobby horses like a couple of kids playing .. lol

I guess bottom line, I don’t see him as wildly less apparently marketable than Archie was, and Archie is doing fine. I like the quality of Archie’s voice a little better, but they seem to me to be of a similar type. And it helps that Joe is a pretty kid who looks as though he will mature into a handsome young man – give him a few months of invisalign braces and a good stylist and he’ll look fantastic in the teen magazines. (btw, I didn’t watch AI last season, and don’t feel the level of emotional connection to The Davids as many here do – I realize that people who watched the season may have very different feelings about Archie’s level of charisma as compared to Joe’s. It’s not something that jumps out at me though).

I’ll be very pleased if Joe McE wins, based on what I’ve seen so far. Really good voice, he performs well with confidence, and he’s adorable.

They did a couple Backstreet Boys ballads during the audition rounds. Truly awful.

“I’m Your Man” croosed with “Wham! Rap”… just can’t beat that. I loved Wham! back in the day lol.

And the judges are acting really weirdly, as well. Even Simon isn’t really giving any honest critiques. The only sensible criticisms I’ve heard have come from Dani and Louis (unless it’s their own act).

It’s seriously irritating and disappointing this year. I’d say maybe it’s time to stop, if it weren’t for the fact that it’s still the highest rated, most media featured show on TV, also that the two top acts from last year are selling extremely well (as is Leona Lewis in the UK) and that anyone who guest appears on it seems to be guarenteed a spot in the top 2 or 3 albums and singles.

I don’t know what they’re all smoking. Seriously. If there is a god (and it’s not Simon Cowell), Lloyd and Stacey will be B2. I am just not understanding why they are inflating Stacey’s talent so much. What good is it going to do her to win and have to sing live when her knees seem to be knocking together already AND she can’t find the melody with six boy scouts, four compasses, Google Maps and a GPS helping her?

No, AI really isn’t as bad as this, jms. X-Factor is just bloody dreadful. None of these people will have careers one year from now ‘“ aside from maybe John and Edward in the ‘children’s television presenters’ industry.

Well as well this is the weakest year of X-Factor that I can remember seeing anything from. Just really mediocre to wretched.

No-one else can sing. Olly can be entertaining sometimes, but that was totally the wrong song for him tonight. The twins are also quite entertaining, in a too awful to be true kind of way.

Has George Michael got a best of album coming out? Queen has just realeased (yet another) greatest hits album and it’s charting really well following last week…
