2015 Tony Awards Performances Announced!

We’ll be liveblogging the Tony Awards on Sunday, June 7, just as we always do! The Tony’s is consistently entertaining, with the best and brightest of the Great White Way coming out to perform.

CBS has released a detailed list of the performances you can expect on Sunday.  The cast of On The Town— which Nigel Lythgoe co-produces–will perform a medley from the show. Be on the lookout for SYTYCD alums! Also, Matthew Morrison from Glee will perform with the Finding Neverland cast. Despite being snubbed for nominations and mixed reviews, the show is a hit with audiences.

PERFORMANCES ANNOUNCED FOR “THE 69TH ANNUAL TONY AWARDS®,” SUNDAY, JUNE 7 ON CBS

In a Special Performance, Singer Josh Groban Will Be Joined on Stage by 175 Performers, The Most in a Single Number in Tony Awards History

Tony Award Winners Kristin Chenoweth and Alan Cumming to Host the Live Telecast From Radio City Music Hall in New York City

Performances have been announced for THE 69TH ANNUAL TONY? AWARDS, live from Radio City Music Hall, Sunday, June 7 (8:00-11:00 PM, live ET/ delayed PT) on the CBS Television Network. The entertainment-packed evening will feature performances of the following numbers from the 2015 Tony-nominated shows in the Best Musical and Best Revival of a Musical categories:

  •  A medley of “Life is Like a Train,” “On the 20th Century,” “I’ve Got It All” and “Babette,” featuring nominee and co-host Kristin Chenoweth and the cast of “On the 20th Century.”
  •  “Getting to Know You” and “Shall We Dance?” from “The King and I,” featuring nominees Kelli O’Hara, Ken Watanabe and Ruthie Ann Miles.
  •   “Ring of Keys” from “Fun Home,” featuring nominees Sydney Lucas, Michael Cerveris and Beth Malone.
  •  “A Musical” featuring nominees Brian d’Arcy James, Brad Oscar and the cast of “Something Rotten!”
  •  A medley of “An American in Paris (pas de deux),” “S’ Wonderful” and “I’ve Got Rhythm,” featuring nominees Leanne Cope, Robert Fairchild, Brandon Uranowitz, Max von Essen and the cast of “An American in Paris.”
  •  “Love and Love Alone” and “I Would Never Leave You,” featuring nominee Chita Rivera and the cast of “The Visit.”
  •  A medley of “Lonely Town,” “New York, New York,” and “Times Square Ballet” featuring nominee Tony Yazbeck and the cast of “On the Town.”

Upholding the Tony Awards’ valued tradition of recognizing the excellence of the entire Broadway season each year, this year’s broadcast will also feature not-to-be missed performances of “The Night They Invented Champagne,” featuring Vanessa Hudgens, Corey Cott, nominee Victoria Clark and the cast of “Gigi,” “Stronger” from “Finding Neverland,” featuring nominee Matthew Morrison and Kelsey Grammer, and “Jenny’s Blues” from “It Shoulda Been You,” featuring Lisa Howard, Adam Heller and nominee Tyne Daly.

The show will feature a special performance by Josh Groban, who will be joined on stage by 175 performers – the most in Tony Award history.

Also, in celebration of its 10-year anniversary on Broadway, the Broadway cast of “Jersey Boys” will perform “Oh What a Night.”

Broadway’s biggest night will feature presenters Jason Alexander, Rose Byrne, Bobby Cannavale, Anna Chlumsky, Bradley Cooper, Misty Copeland, Bryan Cranston, Larry David, Taye Diggs, Sutton Foster, Neil Patrick Harris, Marg Helgenberger, Joe Manganiello, Debra Messing, Jennifer Nettles, Jim Parsons, David Hyde Pierce, Thomas Sadoski, Amanda Seyfried, Taylor Schilling, Corey Stoll, Kiefer Sutherland, Sting, Ashley Tisdale, Tommy Tune and Rita Wilson.

This year marks the 69th anniversary of the Tony Awards, which were first held on April 6, 1947 at the Waldorf Astoria’s Grand Ballroom. The ceremony is presented by Tony Award Productions, which is a joint venture of The Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing, which founded the Tonys.

The 2013 Tony Awards broadcast was honored with three Primetime Emmy Awards in the categories of Outstanding Directing for a Variety Special, Outstanding Special Class Program and Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics for “Bigger!”

Ricky Kirshner and Glenn Weiss of White Cherry Entertainment will return as executive producers.  Weiss will also serve as director for the 16th consecutive year.
