Carrie Underwood and Keith Urban were shut out of the awards, unfortunately. Nevertheless, the duo performed “The Fighter” together while Keith’s wife Nicole Kidman cheered from the audience. Carrie also had a little reunion with Miranda Lambert. Her fellow country singer took Female Vocalist of the Year, but made sure to give her pal Carrie a shout out.
American Idol season 10 winner and runner-up, Scotty McCreery and Lauren Alaina attended. Lauren, whose single “Road Less Travelled” is Top 5 on the country radio charts, also presented Vocal Duo of the Year to Brothers Osborne, along with Kane Brown and Storm Warren.
Another American Idol alum, Kellie Pickler, appeared throughout the broadcast to introduce all the T-Mobile new artist winners. Cassadee Pope and RaeLynn from The Voice both made a splash on the red carpet. (Check out Cassadee’s dress! Wow.). The Voice duo The Swon Brothers were also in attendance.
