Final nominees for The 53rd Annual CMA Awards were revealed this morning (Aug 28) with select categories announced live on ABC’s Good Morning America by Jimmie Allen and Ashley McBryde in the 8:00 a.m. hour, followed by a performance of “If I Know Me” by The Voice season 6 alum Morgan Wallen.
Following the GMA broadcast, Wallen and Midland visited Billboard to reveal final nominees in the remaining CMA Awards categories in addition to the CMA Broadcast Awards nominees.
American Idol season 4 winner Carrie Underwood will host The 53rd Annual CMA Awards with special guest hosts Reba McEntire and Dolly Parton, celebrating legendary women in Country Music throughout the ceremony. The CMAs will broadcasts live from Bridgestone Arena in Nashville Wednesday, Nov. 13 at 8/7c on ABC.
Reality star nominees include: Carrie Underwood for Entertainer of the Year, Female Vocalist of the Year, and Album of the Year for Cry Pretty. Morgan Wallen is nominated for New Artist of the Year.
The Voice coach Blake Shelton’s “God’s Country” is nominated in the Single of the Year and Video of the Year categories. His performance of “Dive Bar” with Garth Brooks gets a nod for Musical Event of the Year. And last but not least. Songland’s Shane McAnally is nominated in Song of the Year for co-writing Kacey Musgraves’ “Rainbow.”
