American Idol alums Carrie Underwood, Lauren Daigle and Tori Kelly, Former Idol judge Harry Connick Jr., and The Voice alum Koryn Hawthorne are all up for 2021 Dove Awards, which are handed out annually by the Gospel Music Association.
Lauren Daigle is up Artist of the Year, and is also nominated in the Pop/Contemporary Recorded Song of the Year category. For Lauren, it’s her latest single “Hold On to Me,” and for KING & COUNTRY is nominated for “Together,” their 2020 collaboration with Kirk Franklin and Tori Kelly. “Together” is also up for Song of the Year.
Harry Connick Jr. and Carrie Underwood are both nominated for Bluegrass/Country/Roots Album of the Year: Harry for his 2021 release Alone with My Faith, and Carrie for her 2021 album My Savior.
Koryn Hawthorne is nominated in the Contemporary Gospel Recorded Song of the Year category for her song “Speak to Me.”
Voting for the final winners will run August 19th through August 26th. THe GMA Dove Awards are happening live and in person in Nashville, Tenn. October 19. A limited number of tickets and Fan Experiences are still available. The Dove Awards will air live from Nashville on TBN October 22 at 8 p.m. ET.
