The 2021 People’s Choice Awards aired simultaneously on both NBC and E! for the first time on Tuesday, December 7 from the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, CA.
Hosted by SNL’s Kenan Thompson, R&B singer H.E.R. performed a tribute honoring the life and legacy of R&B singer Marvin Gaye and the 50th anniversary of the release of his renowned record “What’s Going On.” Blake Shelton performed his latest single, “I’d Rather Be a Country Boy,” while Christina Aguilera performed and accepted the first-ever “Music Icon” award.
Additionally, actress, director, and producer Halle Berry accepted “The People’s Icon” award, entertainment powerhouse and philanthropist Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson received “The People’s Champion” award, and the PCA’s bestowed entrepreneur, fashion and beauty mogul Kim Kardashian West with “The Fashion Icon” award,

Blake Shelton won Country Artist, while The Voice nabbed Competition Show. Dancing with the Stars finalist JoJo Siwa, who partnered with Jenna Johnson as part of the show’s first same sex dancing couple, won Competition Contestant. Ellen Degeneres won Daytime Talk Show for the 25th time. JoJo Siwa handed her the award.
