The Kelly Clarkson Show wins 9 2023 Daytime Emmy Awards for a Total of 22
The 50th Annual Daytime Emmys FINALLY got underway on Friday night (Dec 15) from downtown Los Angeles’ Westin Bonaventure Hotel. Because of the writers and actors strikes, the event did not take place in June as it has in the past. The event aired live on CBS with Entertainment Tonight hosts Kevin Frazier and Nischelle Turner returning to helm the 2023 event. Creative and Lifestyle Emmys were handed out on Saturday (Dec 16).
Two American Idol alums helm popular syndicated daytime talk shows. Kelly Clarkson, the OG winner won a whopping nine awards out of 11 nominations, including best Daytime Talk Series and best Daytime Talk Series Host.
Season 3 alum, Jennifer Hudson was iced out of the six categories in which the show was nominated. While The Jennifer Hudson Show was nominated, Jennifer herself was not nominated in the hosts category.
The Jennifer Hudson Show is in its second season, while The Kelly Clarkson Show is in the middle of its fifth season–its first from Rockefeller Center in New York City.
The Kelly Clarkson Show has won a total of 22 awards over four Daytime Emmy Awards seasons. Kelly herself has nabbed four awards as host. The Kelly Clarkson Show has won three awards in the best Daytime Talk Series category.

Kelly posted a thank you message to social media “Thank you so much!!! I am so proud of my whole team for our wins tonight!!” Kelly wrote after Friday night’s Daytime Emmy Awards telecast. “Thank you to all of the people that started this show with us and to all of those who joined us this season!” Kelly continued, “Thank you to all of the guests and fans that take time out of their lives and schedules to come hang with us! We are beyond blessed, and grateful, and so thankful for our new family and friends at 30 Rock who have been so supportive of our new home.”
