2024 People’s Choice Awards: Kelly Clarkson Show and The Voice win in their categories
People’s Choice Awards aired live on NBC from the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, Calif. Sunday night (Feb 18). Hosted by Simu Liu, the show honored singer Lenny Kravitz with the Music Icon Award, and actor Adam Sandler with the People’s Icon Award. Kylie Minogue, Lainey Wilson and Lenny Kravitz performed.
Notable winners include The Voice in the Competition Show of the Year category, The Kelly Clarkson Show in the Daytime Talkshow of the Year category, and Ariana Madix, who won the Competition Contestant of the Year after competing on Dancing with the Stars.
Kelly Clarkson, Ariana Madix and members of The Voice cast were not on hand to pick up their trophies in person. Kelly lives in New York City now. It makes sense that she’d skip it. But with The Voice season 25 premiering in a week, it’s a little surprising nobody from the show was around to make an appearance!
Who was on hand? Ariana’s fellow DWTS contestant and WINNER of the show, Xochitl Gomez, AGT judge Heidi Klum and AGT: Fantasy League contestant, Drake Milligan. Lainey Wilson won Female Country Artist of the Year. It looks like American Idol alum Carrie Underwood’s reign as queen of the voting shows is over. As a reminder, these trophies are based on fan voting, which took place late last year.
