Singer Adam Lambert arrives at OUT Magazine’s Inaugural POWER 50 Gala & Awards Presentation at Goya Studios on August 10, 2017 in Los Angeles, California.
Adam Lambert attended the Out Power 50 Gala in Los Angeles last Thursday (August 10) and had a few things to say about American Idol and judging singing competition in general.
The American Idol season 8 alum landed the number 43 spot on Out magazine’s annual list of LGBT movers and shakers. Here are a couple of highlights from a red carpet interview with Access Hollywood.
Would Adam be interested in sitting on the American Idol judges panel? “I judged X Factor down in Australia and I had such a good time–that was last year,” the singer explained. Although he would love to do it, Adam’s schedule probably wouldn’t permit it. “I don’t think it’s in the works for me on Idol this year…I have more touring with Queen and music to do but maybe in the future.”
The interviewer mentioned FOX’s upcoming singing show, The Four. Although Adam wasn’t familiar with the network’s plans, he would consider it: “Always interested in new opportunities, 100%. I did like judging a lot. I liked the mentoring even more. If it could incorporate some mentoring in the the mix with that, I think it would be perfect for me.”
And as far as new music is concerned, Adam shared that he has “new music in the works…stuff that’s been recorded and mixed.” Right now, he’s working on “when I want to drop it.” The singer promises, “There’s lots to come.”
Adam also chatted about the importance of LGBTQ events such as the Out Power 50 Gala, how Will & Grace helped make him feel comfortable about discussing sexuality with his family, and his love for Rupaul’s Drag Race.
