The original cast recording for the world premiere musical, Cinderella, is out now. The set includes songs from American Idol alums Adam Lambert and Todrick Hall along with the original cast. The show will open at the Gillian Lynne Theater in London in June.
The musical’s composer Andrew Lloyd Webber announced the release on social media. “I am thrilled to say that finally the Cinderella album is out today,” he wrote on Friday (July 9) alongside a video, “Created during lockdown last year, it features some of our incredible cast, and a few very exciting guest appearances from @adamlambert, @helenrgeorge and @todrick. I am very proud of this album so I hope you enjoy it!”

Adam Lambert rocks out on the interestingly titled song and highly theatrical, “The Vanquishing of the Three Headed Sea Witch.” Unfortunately, according to Lloyd Webber in his video announcement, the song is no longer in the show. But it’s on the soundtrack for fans to enjoy. Check it out below.
The Queen frontman has been busy lately with a song on the Netflix show “We The People” which teaches civics to kids. Additionally, Adam is set to play the devil in a new Netflix animated feature. And, he performed and curated a day of performances for Outloud: Raising Voices back in June for LGBT Pride.

Additionally, Broadway star and American Idol season 9 alum Todrick Hall performs the piano driven ballad, “Only You, Lonely You,” which is a bonus track on the album. The latest on Todrick: A thief broke into his home and took off with 50K worth of goods. The singer hinted on social media that he probably knows the culprit!

The new production features a book by Emerald Fennell, music by Andrew Lloyd Webber, and lyrics by David Zippel. The LondonTheatre website describes the new musical as a “fresh feminist take” on the well-known Grimms Fairy Tale. The production stars Carrie Hope Fletcher as Cinderella, and Ivano Turco as Prince Sebastian.
For Cinderella fans, former Fifth Harmony member Camila Cabello plays the title role in another musical adaption of the fairy tale. It’s coming to Amazon Prime Video this September. Check out the official trailer HERE.
