Adam Lasher American Idol 2016 Season 15 Contestant

Adam Lasher is a 28-year-old singer from Danville, California, who is also a well known returnee from American Idol 14. In addition to being known for his past Idol run, Adam is also the nephew of famed musician, Carlos Santana, who he says taught him how to play guitar. A prolific song writer, Adam has a full repertoire of original music, which he shares on his Youtube channel and has been featured on TV shows like My Fair Wedding and Young And The Restless. Adam is also a Type 1 Diabetic, which he discussed on American Idol. According to his website, Adam enjoys relaxing, surfing, long boarding and “chilling at home with his 20 some thing year old life long friend and parrot “Topper.”

During his run on last year’s American Idol, Adam auditioned in New Orleans with an original song and received strong praise from the judges. Afterwards, his audition made waves when Jimmy Fallon had a segment on his show devoted to a comment that the two look alike. However, Adam was cut in the last round of Hollywood Week.

Over this past summer Adam auditioned for American Idol again, where he sang Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door, by Bob Dylan. Receiving his golden ticket to Hollywood, The Idol Pad reports that Adam survived Hollywood Week and advanced to the Showcase Round, where he sang Stay, by Rihanna. Giving a strong enough performance, Adam was then admitted into the top 24.

Overall Thoughts: Yeah, I’m pretty sure Adam is a top 10 lock. I remember last year a lot of people liking him and being annoyed when he was cut, so I feel like Adam will do great with voters this season. However, with the judges (aka the producers) doing the cuts this year there is a slight chance he won’t reach the voting rounds out of fear he will win (which it is entirely possible he will), but I don’t see that happening. This competition needs Adam in it and I think he is going to be in it for the long haul. Not much else I have to say about Adam, except that he really reminds me of John Mayer. Otherwise I would just maybe suggest he look at the runs of past Idol winners and try not to go to far with his rearrangements and try to give us something different every week. As long as he doesn’t crash and burn, Adam should sail right through this competition.
