America’s Got Talent 2024 Audition Preview: Simon Cowell believes Japanese dance group, Sabrina, could win it all

America’s Got Talent 2024 auditions continue on to week 2, airing June 4. Leaked ahead of the next episode is a performance from Sabrina, an all women dance group from Japan.

The group placed 2nd in the World Division of World of Dance in 2023. They also won the team division of World of Dance Tokyo 2023.

Their impeccable routine is a reminiscent of 2022 winners, and Sofia Vergara Golden Buzzer act. Mayyas. The group employs precise synchronicity and unique dance moves that result in a high energy performance. They even perform a quick costume change by the end of the performance.

After the audition, the audience and judges get up on their feet. “I’m speechless,” said Sofia, “It was so exciting. The choreography, the music was so dramatic. I think the people are going to love. you.”

“You’ve got a real shot at winning after that”

“I know nothing about dance,” remarked Simon Cowell, “I do know when someone is original. God knows how many months you spent getting that together. It was like a machine. You’ve got a real shot at winning after that.”

Howie Mandel agreed with Simon. “It’s one of the most–how do you say amazing in Japanese?” The translator offered the word, which Howie repeated. He added, “You were able to stay in sync at such an amazing speed and then you added the agility to that…I’ve never seen that kind of movement. It was original. You are so worthy of being on Season 19.”

Heidi Klum noted the outfit change during the routine. She added, “I love the synchronicity of it all. My favorite act so far of the day.

All four judges delivered their yeses in Japanese. “That was actually quite incredible,” Simon added.

America’s Got Talent airs on NBC and streams next day on Peacock, every Tuesday at 8 pm ET/PT.
