America’s Got Talent: The Champions heads into the semifinal round this week. Twelve contestants will vie for six spots remaining in the finale after four acts have already advanced via the judges’ Golden Buzzer.
This Monday, Feb 3, acrobats Duo Transcend will be one of those acts hoping for the chance to win it all.
In this preview clip, the duo performs an unbelievable aerial and roller skating routine to “The Greatest Show” from the movie musical The Greatest Showman. It’s a very smart choice, considering the film is one of judge Simon Cowell’s favorites.
Featuring a circus theme, the duo opens their routine with impressive tricks on the trampoline. After the two dramatically fall onto a large cushion, they hastily don roller skates for more dangerous stunts. One wrong move, and a head could crack open. The duo finish their death-defying routine by breaking out the eye masks.
“That duo just transcended…a circus act into a full blown stage show!” gushed Howie Mandel. “I actually feel like I am in the greatest show on earth. I couldn’t take my eyes off you,” said Alesha Dixon. “It was perfection,” complimented Heidi Klum. Simon said, “Tonight you were in control of everything. I thought the theme was immaculate. Loved one act leading to another. This was everything but more than I ever could have hoped for you.”
