American Idol season 17 runner-up Alejandro Aranda releases a new song, “Friends,” the first single off of the artist’s forthcoming album.

“‘Friends’ is a lighthearted song about being in the talking stage of a relationship and not knowing exactly how to say what you mean,” is how Alejandro, who goes by the moniker Scarypoolparty describes the track. “It’s also a song that I self-produced and played everything on. I wanted it to be an honest expression in music.”

Alejandro recently released his LOS ANGELES EP, plus 3 videos from the EP including “Universe” featuring nothing, nowhere, “Paradise,” and “Room Full of Cards.”

After selling out two headlining tours and performing at Lollapalooza, ACL, and Life Is Beautiful in 2019, the singer-songwriter will make appearances this year at Bonnaroo, Outside Lands, and Summer Camp.

On June 4th, Scarypoolparty embarked on his first post-pandemic 16-show “The Acoustic Tour” where he’ll play stripped-down versions of some of his biggest hits. These acoustic, socially distanced shows kicked off in Tempe, AZ with limited tickets still available. Learn more and get your tickets HERE.

The new song is very reminiscent of the dreamy, acoustic driven tunes, like “10 Years” that he performed on American Idol. However, “Friends” is uncharacteristically breezy for Alejandro, whose performance style is typically intense. Listen to it below.

Additionally, on May 13, Alejandro released “Escape” which combines live performances with XR technology. The futuristic clip is filled with robots, post-apocalyptic creatures, strobes and more. Shot in partnership with the multimedia partners Freckled Sky, Pixela, LMG Touring and TRI Direction with post-production by Nowhere 2 Run, the video is the first use of the brand-new, fully immersive XR stage in Las Vegas, NV.

If Freckled Sky rings a bell, that’s because the technological outfit first gained attention on America’s Got Talent in 2015.
