American Idol 13: The Judges Hilarious Boston Press Conference (VIDEO)

Check out a short vid from the American Idol judges press conference in Boston yesterday.  Only two days together on the panels, and Keith and Harry have developed an hysterical rapport.  Jennifer, sandwiched between the two of them, is holding her own as the straight foil.

The hilarity begins with Keith’s Australian accent and the word “pianist.”  I’ll just leave it at that! Heh. Harry says to “expect the unexpected.” I am always cautiously optimistic at the beginning of a new season. But you guys. I’m dropping the word “caution.”  I think this team has real potential.

More from the conference.

Harry is going to cut Keith and Jennifer from the show. Lulz. On a serious note, Harry says they all love each other. And that it’s called “American Idol” not “American Singer” for a reason. Already and inside joke: A lame twerking bit. Keith is proud they don’t tell the contestants want to sing.

Here are some bits from that press conference, via The Boston Globe:

  • Harry and Jennifer appeared on the same episode of “Will and Grace,” but he had never met Keith before his mentoring stint on Idol last spring.
  • Without missing a beat Keith asked Harry:  “Remember that time you were cleaning out the pool in the backyard? During the lean years?”
  • On the subject of performing together as a “threesome,” Harry asked “Are we talking music still?” He went on to say “The idea of us performing together would be phenomenal. You’re talking about two of the greatest performers on the planet.” Keith added, “And me.”
  • Asked if they had any advice for Harry, Keith jokingly said “Yeah, shut the hell up” with Jlo almost simultaneously saying “Less talking.”
  • “The focus is back where it’s supposed to be, on the show, and on the contestants and on people having a good time and tuning in for some great entertainment and a few laughs here and there and that emotion that comes along with that ride,” said Jennifer
