LIVE from Dancing with the Stars it’s…American Idol? Idol judge Lionel Richie was on hand Monday night at the Dancing with the Stars finale to announce that 28 year old Texan, Britney Holmes, won a golden ticket to Hollywood.
During Sunday night’s American Music Awards, three hopefuls who sang in front of the judges and came close to earning a golden ticket were given another chance. Video auditions from Brittany and her fellow singers 18 year old Maris from Montana, and 21 year old Brooklynite, Dominique Smith aired during AMA’s commercial breaks. Viewers had the opportunity to vote for their favorite at AmericanIdol.com.
All three singers were present as Lionel announced the winner, Ryan Seacrest style. DWTS host Tom Bergeron quipped to Lionel, “You’ve already got that wonderful reality show down!” Watch the big reveal below.
Each of the three singer were introduced by on of the judges–Lionel, Luke Bryan or Katy Perry. Winner Brittany was introduced by Katy before singing “Let it Go” by James Bay.
American Idol premieres on ABC Sunday March 11.
