Music superstars and judges Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie, along with producer and host Ryan Seacrest, were on hand when ABC’s American Idol kicked off judge auditions for the next singing sensation in Denver, Colorado, on Tuesday, October 2, 2018.
American Idol is returning to The ABC Television Network for the 2018-2019 season, after first making its return to airwaves as the No. 1 reality show launch for its inaugural season on the network during the 2017-2018 season.

In this short clip, Katy Perry steals the show. It appears the audition were filmed at some sort of airplane museum/hanger/military location. American Idol’s Season 17 auditions began online May 5 and will continue through Nov. 5. ABC has not announced a premiere date, but the new season is set to premiere winter/spring 2019.
