American Idol returns to the airwaves winter 2020 for a third season on ABC. Currently, the judges, Lionel Richie, Katy Perry and Luke Bryan along with mentor Bobby Bones and host Ryan Seacrest are crisscrossing the country auditioning hopefuls for the show. The third stop on their tour took place at The Wharf in Southwest, Washington DC on Monday and Tuesday (Oct 14 and 15).
From Bizjournals:
Signs posted around The Wharf’s pedestrian walkways warned passersby of their implied consent to be recorded by virtue of their presence there. Camera crews were filming at the Dockmaster Building at the end of the District Pier, next to which an enormous yacht, the Bella Vita, was docked on Monday afternoon.
The “American Idol” logo emblazoned in lights sat at the end of the pier, serving as a backdrop to other filming Monday evening. What appeared to be a standup interview with an Idol hopeful Monday evening was witnessed by a WBJ staffer — before she and her party were shushed by a producer and asked to move along.
The Daily Mail posted a few pap photos, including one of Luke and Katy posing on a boat, Katy’s arms outstretched Titanic style, and Katy visiting the Washington Monument. Check out those pics HERE.
As always, American Idol chronicled both days via Instagram stories. Lionel posted a few clips as well. Watch the reel here.
Check out photos from both days. So far, American Idol Judges auditions have taken place in Savannah, Georgia, and Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Last stop is Los Angeles, California.
