American Idol returns to ABC for season 18 on Sunday Feb 16 (8:00-10:00 p.m. EST). Returning this season are all-star judges Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie, as well as Ryan Seacrest as host. Radio personality Bobby Bones will return to his role as in-house mentor.

In the first American Idol episode of the season viewers will embark on a nation-wide journey across Savannah, Georgia; Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Washington, D.C.; Los Angeles, California; and Sunriver, Oregon. Those auditioning for the coveted ticket to Hollywood include a subway performer from Harlem who gives one of the most emotional auditions in Idol history; a garbage collector with no experience who heads to the streets of Savannah, alongside host Ryan Seacrest, to warm up for his audition; and a hopeless romantic who encounters her own fairy tale twist during her audition as she sings from the heart.

Alisa Ermolaev – Hmmm. I smell a joke contestant. Alisa is an actress/model who has appeared on Ray Donovan, Elementary and more. – Instagram

Saveria – An R&B singer from Ontario, Canada, Saveria appeared on season 2 of The Launch, the Canadian music competition created by former American Idol mentor, Scott Borchetta. – The show released her song “Down to the Roots.” last February.
Doug Kiker – “I’m a garbage man!” Doug declares in the extended promo.
