Former The Real Housewives of Orange County alum, Heather Dubrow, revealed on Instagram that her daughter Max is auditioning for American Idol season 19.
Heather uploaded a photo of her 16 year old daughter preparing for her virtual audition. In the photo Max stands in front of a baby grand piano, with a lighting and camera setup in the photo. Is she really just another hopeful participating in the the virtual auditions? Or did producers reach out to her?
Unless Max is an embarrassingly terrible singer, I bet she auditions in front of judges Lionel Richie, Katy Perry and Luke Bryan for a shot at Hollywood (Or whatever the post-audition round turns out to be in the time of COVID). According to the Bravo piece reporting the news, Max sang solo performances for high school events. And fellow RHOC stars say she can sing. From comments on the photo: RHOC alum Tamra Judge commented, “Yeah. That’s amazing. She has a beautiful voice. Can’t wait to watch her crush it.” The Real Housewives of Beverly Hill’s Lisa Rinna also chimed in, writing, “How exciting!!!”
“Watching my daughter @maxdubrow CRUSH her @americanidol audition!” Heather wrote in the caption of the photo, also adding hashtags that read “stand by” and “proud mom.”

Heather Dubrow starred on Real Housewives of Orange County from 2012-2016. Before that she worked as an actress, including on an NBC sitcom from 1999-2000 titled Stark Raving Mad with Tony Shalhoub and Neil Patrick Harris.
She is married to plastic surgeon Terry During brow, who is the younger brother of the late Heavy Metal singer, Kevin Dubrow. There’s your American Idol connection, though slight. Kevin was the lead singer of Quiet Riot at the time of his death. Season 10 alum James Durbin served as lead singer from 2017-2019.
American Idol virtual auditions continues. All hopefuls need are a couple of songs and a Zoom connection. Check out this link for more info.
correction: mixed up Kardashians with the housewives I certainly won’t do that again
