American Idol has released partial song spoilers for Sunday’s (May 2) Top 10 Disney night episode. Billboard posted the list of songs the Top 10 will sing, but not which of the Top 10 will sing them. At this point, it might be fun to guess who sings what!
ABC is owned by the Disney company, therefore the network has given American Idol fans a night of Disney songs every season the show has aired on ABC (2018-2021). It’s always a Top 10 theme. But this year there is a little twist. The Top 9 singers were revealed last week before the Oscar break. However, on Monday, 10 singers from Season 18 returned to compete for the 10th spot. The winner of that contest will be revealed live on Sunday.
Ten songs on the spoiler list means the Comeback winner is rehearsing with the Top 9?
Because 10 songs are on the list, does that mean that the season 18 singer who won the competition knows already, and is rehearsing with the Top 9? A couple of little Instagram tidbits: Mikayla Phillips, considered a possible winner, is already promoting upcoming original music. Wouldn’t she hold off on promoting new music until she knew for sure that she lost? And definite frontrunner, Louis Knight, posted a photo of himself with mentor Bobby Bones that could be recent! Or from the week he filmed his Top 10 performance.
The show will air live coast to coast, across all time zones allowing voting to take place in real time. By the end of the episode, a Top 7 will be revealed.
Additionally, John Stamos mentored the contestants at Disney World in Florida. Sofia Carson from the animated Disney film The Descendents will perform a group number with the contestants and Oscar winner Jon Batiste will perform “It’s All Right” from the Oscar winning animated feature, Soul.
No more Monday Shows for 2021
American Idol Disney night will air on Sunday May 2 live coast to coast to coast from 8:00 to 10:00 ET. Monday shows are done. for the season. The remaining episodes will air live coast to coast on Sundays. Sunday May 9 will feature the Top 7 singing Mother’s Day songs. The Top 5 will perform on Sunday May 16. And the Top 3 will compete for the crown on the Sunday May 23 3 hour finale.
