American Idol 2024 Auditions 2 Contestants List (Photos)
American Idol’s 22nd season continues on ABC Sunday Feb 25. The Auditions 2 episode includes more hopefuls whom judges Lionel Richie, Katy Perry and Luke Bryan auditioned amid a hometown theme. The show travelled to each of the judges hometowns to audition contestants, in addition to Los Angeles and Nashville.
The hometowns included Leesburg, Georgia (Luke), Tuskegee, Alabama (Lionel) and Santa Barbara, California (Katy).

Abby Blake
Abby Blake is a pop and soul singer who lives in Nashville and is originally from the small town of Caledonia, Minnesota. In a news interview about her audition she reveals, she sang “What About Us” by P!NK. It appears she’ll be accompanied by a fellow hopeful, Kayko at her audition. In that interview, she reveals she was a committed athlete, but she later saw music as her true calling. She released an EP titled “Quit Leavin’ Me Alone” in 2022.

Abi Carter
Abi Carter is a college student studying psychology who performs on the streets of Palm Springs, California. American Idol did a short preview of her audition which revealed she would be singing “What Was I Made For.” The clip, however, is no longer available. Abi is from a large family. The singer is a big Taylor Swift fan, often covering her.
*Abi is a rumored platinum ticket by reliable sources over at The Idol Pad and is also confirmed by Blake Busch. The Idol Pad posted a clip of her singing her audition song at a platinum ticket ceremony. Watch it HERE.

Colescott Rubin
Colescott is a singer and multi-instrumentalist from Portland, now living in Boston, who unicycles while playing the bass. He’s from a musical family of circus performers and they call their act The Rubin Brothers. It appears his brother AJ will join him at his audition. He teaches master courses at the Berklee School of Music. He’s also in a swing band called Colescott & The Red Hots.

Dawson Slade
Dawson is a 17-year-old country singer originally from Moulton, Alabama. He has been posting videos on YouTube for at least 6 years. He moved to Nashville in May of 2023, and soon after became a father. In last week’s preview of this episode, a Katy Perry lookalike is actually Dawson’s mom. It appears that his family will be a big part of his story as his son is also at the audition. This past fall, he released his first original song to streaming platforms titled “Home In My Heart.” He also recently joined country singer Trey Lewis on stage for his final tour date for a cover of “Friends in Low Places” by Garth Brooks.

Derric Gobourne Jr.
Derric is a 25-year-old singer and dancer from Sarasota, Florida. He describes himself as a “New Jack Swing Artist.” His original, “Until (Intro)” has over 107K streams on Spotify off of his EP Until: Summer Songs Inspired by a Hummingbird. He also has starred in theater productions and was named a finalist in 2017 in the hip hop/dance category for YoungArts Week by the National YoungArts Foundation. Additionally, he has a few viral videos including one where he was dancing in the crowd while watching his sister who is a gymnast at Auburn University. The video has 10 million views and 2.1 million likes.

Emmy Russell
Emmy, is a 25-year-old Nashville based indie pop singer who also has some country in her sound which likely comes from her grandma, the legendary country icon, the late Loretta Lynn. She recently performed at the Grand Ole Opry in October of 2022 with Willie Nelson’s son Lukas Nelson to honor Loretta with a cover of “Lay Me Down” for A Celebration of the Life and Music of Loretta Lynn. This summer Emmy had an original go viral on Tik Tok with the Songhouse (who often collaborates with current and past singing show stars). The song titled “Skinny” is about struggling with an eating disorder. The video on Tik Tok has over 1.2 million views, 153.5K likes, and has racked up 457K streams on Spotify.

Hailey Mia
Hailey Mia, a 16-year-old pop balladeer, from Clifton, New Jersey competed on The Voice Season 21 at the age of 13. She started her run on Team Ariana Grande, but Kelly Clarkson stole her in the Battles, and she went on to finish in 4th place. She still will be one of the younger singers on American Idol this season. Since her run on The Voice, she has gone viral a few times including with a rendition of Adele’s “All I Ask,” which she sang at her high school. Also, she released an original track titled, “Daydreams”.

Johnny Majestic
Johnny Majestic is a glam rock singer based in Los Angeles, but was born in Prague, Czech Republic. His original, “In The Clouds” has 131K streams on Spotify. According to a website bio, he started studying piano at the age of 6. His sound incorporates both electronic pop and 80’s rock styles.

Justice Murphy
Justice is a student at Alabama State University studying Biology. A church singer who was recently chosen as a soloist to front the Montgomery, Alabama based First Baptist Church choir, she has starred in theater productions like Dreamgirls while at Alabama State. Her style is a mix of R&B, gospel, and she sometimes sings pop and theater music.

Sam ‘Kayko’ Kelly-Cohen
Samuel Kelly-Cohen, also known as Kayko, is an alternative pop singer based in Nashville. It appears he accompanies fellow hopeful Abby Blake’s audition as the pianist. He does audition, but based on the pictures, it might not be a planned audition. His song “Crash and Burn” from his 2022 album YOUR BEST FRIEND’S FAVORITE BAND has over 400K streams on Spotify. He is a frequent collaborator and songwriter at The Songhouse, where several singing show alums have written songs and posted onto their viral Tik Tok page.

KB
Kaibrenne Richins, also known simply as KB is a viral 20-year-old YouTube singer from Henefer, Utah. Jewell Richins, KB’s dad, started posting his daughter singing in the car on YouTube and it turned into a viral sensation with the most viewed video getting 11 million views. After a heartbreak, K.B. sang an emotional cover of “I’ll Never Love Again” with her dad’s encouragement. It went viral. She is now in college and has since started posting on her own social channels, and built a following. KB’s audition was previewed by Parade in which she sings “Something In The Orange.” The Parade piece also reveals that KB suffers from the thyroid disease, Hashimoto’s which she was diagnosed with in 4th grade and has led to mood swings and a lot of pain.

Noah Peters
Noah Peters is a 24-year-old barber and singer from the small town of Charleston, Tennessee. He’s been cutting hair since he was 14. He’s a viral Tik Toker with nearly 982K followers who has gone viral several times, one with him singing Luke Bryan’s “Country Girl (Shake It For Me) with a young customer. In a preview of his audition, he sings “I Won’t Let Go” by Rascal Flatts before the judges have him give a haircut to last season’s 3rd place finisher Colin Stough. The two sing Chris Stapleton’s “Broken Halos.” Noah also appeared on I Can See Your Voice Season 3. It’s not revealed during his audition segment, but he lost his wife, Kailee to cancer at just the age of 21 in 2020. He has since gotten engaged and his fiancee is often featured in his videos.

Nya
Nya (who’s full name is Nyachomba Muchai-Kinya) is a 27-year-old Kenyan singer who currently lives in Manhattan, and is originally from Florida. She has a big voice with soul and the ability to belt. Nya also has great experience on stage having starred in musicals like Titanique (Off-Broadway) where she was a backup vocalist and played Molly in the iceberg. She also appeared in Motown: The Musical, Caroline, or Change and Cleo Experience. ABC previewed her audition last week. In it, she left the judges awestruck, resulting in Katy Perry fanning her as she calls the hopeful a “star.”

Roman Collins
Roman Collins, who also goes by the name Romansings, is a gospel singer from Long Beach, California. He studies at the Musicians Institute in LA and serves as the Minister of Music at Calvary Baptist Church in Hawthorne, California where his father is the lead pastor. According to a website bio, he has shared the stage with famous singers like Kelly Price, Childish Gambino, Sheila E, and more. Roman released an EP in 2022 titled Champion’s Cry.

Shriya Jha
Shriya Jha is a 16-year old indie pop singer from Boston, Massachusetts. She released her first song to Spotify at 14 titled “Strangers on Saturn”, and is influenced by Lorde and Billie Eilish. She’s had a couple of viral videos including one of her singing “It Will Rain” by Bruno Mars which has 1.6 million views and 233K likes. Her audition appears to have some comedic bits in it, as Katy Perry is shown breaking something over her head.

The Lindsley Brothers (Jon and Trey)
Jon and Trey are brothers from Waco, Texas who appear to be both auditioning. Jon is the younger of the two brothers and has a vocal performance degree. He is also a percussionist aside from being a vocalist. Trey is a guitarist and vocalist. In 2021, they released an EP titled Simpler Times and in 2024 they released a new song titled “Reconcile.” Their style is a mix of soft rock and funk music and feels a bit old-school.

Ziggy
Ziggy Krassenberg is a singer and reality TV star from Holland. His competition history dates back to appearing on the Dutch version of American Idol at 15 years old. He got cut before the live shows. Next, he appeared on The Voice of Holland, Season 10 in 2019, at the age of 18 and turned 4 chairs. However, he got cut in the Knockouts. Most recently, he won a Reality TV show called Good Luck Guys which appears to be a show similar to Survivor but with couples. Ziggy also is a viral social media sensation with 327K followers on Tik Tok and over 4 million views and nearly 150K likes on his cover of Celine Dion’s “My Heart Will Go On”.
