American Idol 2024 Song Spoilers! Find out what the Top 5 are singing for Disney night.
American Idol has dropped song spoilers for Sunday’s Disney Night episode (May 12). The remaining five contestants will each sing two songs from the iconic Disney catalog. The show flew to Orlando, Florida where the singers were mentored by country music star and one-time American Idol hopeful, Kane Brown.
Judges Lionel Richie, Katy Perry, and Luke Bryan plus host Ryan Seacrest were also on hand at the Florida parks. They open the show with a whimsical performance of “You’ve Got a Friend in Me” by Randy Newman from Toy Story. The show opening is previewed below. Even Ryan “sings” kinda!
The song choices aren’t strictly Disney songs. Several are tracks synced for movies owned by Disney. The oldest choice comes from 1989, so all are fairly contemporary songs. Each singer manages to choose songs that fit their style. Or picks that allow them to make an unexpected turn (Jack Blocker will sing David Bowie’s Space Oddity, not exactly a top of mind Disney song!).
American Idol Top 5 Disney Night airs LIVE coast to coast on Sunday May 12 on ABC at 8 pm EDT (streaming next day on Hulu). America will vote in real time, and will eliminate two contestants by the end of the episode. A Top 3 will emerge and will head to the May 18 3-hour finale.

I’ve come across news reports from the finalists home town newspapers–they are all getting ready to film homecoming events in case their artist makes the Top 3. Abi Carter, Emmy Russell, Jack Blocker, Triston Harper and Will Moseley are all hoping to get those hometown visits and compete for the crown.
