American Idol 2024 Top 10 Rankings, Facebook Stats, Poll Results – How would you rank the Top 10?
American Idol season 22 started last week with a Top 14 on Sunday (April 21) and ended Monday’s episode (April 22) with a Top 10. Real time voting kicked off, and at the end of each episode, host Ryan Seacrest announced that two singers would be leaving the show.
Coming into this week’s Top 10 and Top 8 performance shows, here are our Top 10 rankings, as well as the results of the polls you took last week, in addition to statistics compiled from the videos American Idol uploaded to their Facebook page.
American Idol airs on Sunday May 28 and Monday May 29 at 8 pm ET/PT. It’s the final Monday show of the season before American Idol airs its last three episodes live across all time zones. For ALL the details on the remaining shows for the 2024 season, check out the link below. Lionel Richie, Katy Perry and Luke Bryan sit on the judges panel.

Top 10 Rankings
While Triston Harper’s Facebook rank fell between Sunday and Monday night, he’s staying at the top of our rankings. I suspect he’ll bounce back up this week. Y’all love Jack Blocker, but he probably won’t last the week. Just consider the artists who remain. It’s a competitive Top 10! So competitive, don’t be surprised if a SHOCK BOOT happens this week.
By the way, the photos below were snapped at the American Idol Top 10 party which took place at the Aster in Hollywood right after Monday’s live episode.
10. Jack Blocker
Readers are big fans of Jack, but there is a good chance he doesn’t make it past this week. His Facebook numbers are low and the competition at this stage is fierce. However, he’s been a welcome presence on the Idol stage as somebody who knows who he is and follows his own musical instincts. I wouldn’t be mad if he lasted into next week.
9. McKenna Breinholt
McKenna has delivered a few incredible performances this season, but overall, her performances have been uneven. She’s competing against fellow female singer songwriters Kaibrienne, Emmy Russell and Abi Carter, who, admittedly, have not been perfect, but have been more consistent overall. They will likely outlast her.
8. Julia Gagnon
Julia is still a little rough around the edges. She might have benefitted from waiting a year or two to before auditioning. But as the only R&B singer left in the competition, she may benefit from having her own lane. Her numbers have been low, so this week she ranks at number 8.
7. Mia Matthews
It’s surprising that Mia’s Facebook numbers from last week are in the bottom half. She has turned in steadily improving performances week to week and is the kind of contestant–a dark horse that comes from behind–that Idol fans typically love. She’s 7th in the rankings this week, but I would not count her out. It’s worth noting that the Top 10 is full of country and country adjacent singers. The competition is cut throat.
6. Kaibrienne
As far as Facebook stats, Kaibrienne is in the bottom half this week. It’s worth noting that she’s competing against other popular female singers, but also a bunch of guys who usually come into the competition with an advantage. She’s an interesting artist who is not afraid to step out of her box. Hopefully, that doesn’t hurt her and she can last at least through next week.
5. Will Moseley
Will Moseley is the most laid back of the contestants. He seems to be MOSEYING along to at least a Top 5 finish with his soulful country and rock infused performances. Does this guy ever break a sweat?
4. Abi Carter
Abi dropped from two to five in the Facebook stats between the Top 12 and Top 10 reveal nights. But consider that on Monday she performed first and the judges were particularly harsh in their critiques. Actually, she got the harshest criticisms of the night. All it will take is a redemption performance to put her back at the top of the list.
3. Emmy Russell
There are stronger singers than Emmy in the Top 10, but her vulnerability, songwriting talent, and connection (granddaughter) to the late great Loretta Lynn could propel her far into the competition. Interestingly, because of her Nashville connection, Emmy is probably pulling many country votes, despite not really being a country singer.
2. Kayko
Between Sunday and Monday night, Kayko rose from last place in the Facebook stats to first. His Gotye cover earned him over 400K views. Second place went to Will Moseley who came in just shy of 200K. That’s a big gap! Kayko is the only male pop singer in the Top 10. He’s a strong songwriter. However, with several theme nights coming up, he will be forced to sing covers, at least through to the Top 7 or Top 5. Still, occupying his own lane is going to help him.
1. Triston Harper
He dropped a few notches in the Facebook stats between Sunday and Monday. The judges lamented that they preferred his Elvis personna, so expect him to adjust accordingly this week. I expect that both he and Abi will successfully mount big comebacks this week. I still have Triston leading the pack as someone who could win it all in the end.
American Idol 2024 Top 10 Polls
The folks who vote in our polls don’t correlate at all to overall fan votes. We have fewer country music fans here than are watching the show is my theory. For instance, look at Jack Blocker ranking high in the polls, but not so much on Facebook.

Facebook Statistics
It’s unfortunate, but American Idol does not post the performance videos from contestants who were eliminated. Fans can upload them to Youtube so they are out there. But the official American Idol channel only posts video from artists who have not been eliminated. So, don’t be confused by the Facebook stats which reflect a Top 12 and a Top 10 from the Top 14 and Top 12 performance nights.
Notice that Kayko went from dead last after Sunday’s show to No 1 after Monday’s! Maybe Sunday’s Bottom 3 was a true bottom three. Hm. But maybe not. These rankings seem volatile. Triston dropped from No 1 on Sunday to No. 4 on Monday. Abi Carter went from No 2 on Sunday to No 5 on Monday. If the Facebook numbers truly correlate to viewer votes, singers are dependent on performance order, song choice and judges comments.
A big surprise is Mia Matthews ranking low on both nights after delivering really great performances on both nights. Also did not expect Kaibrienne to be a solid middle packer.
