American Idol 2024 Top 14 Rankings and Facebook Stats
The American Idol 2024 Top 14 take the stage LIVE on Sunday (April 21) to sing for your REAL TIME VOTES. At the end of the episode, host Ryan Seacrest will eliminate TWO contestants, resulting in a Top 12, who will return on Monday (April 22) to sing again.
American Idol themes are back. The Season 22 Top 14 will choose songs from Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees (check out our song suggestions HERE). Gene Simmons from the legendary rock band KISS will mentor the singers. And, for the first time ever on Idol, the Hall of Fame inductees for 2024 will be revealed live on the show!
On Monday, the Top 12 will be mentored by pop star Meghan Trainor as they tackle Billboard No. 1 Hits. Ryan reveals a Top 10 at the end of the show.
It’s worth noting that the remaining singers can’t rely on original songs for at least the next several weeks, as each episode features some kind of theme. On Sunday April 10, the Top 10 pick songs from their birth years. And on April 15, the judges will choose songs for the Top 8 (Judges Song Contest).

For instance, KAYKO has performed original songs for each of his televised performances. Fans will finally see how he fares while singing other people’s songs.
The below rankings begin with the four Wildcards whom the judges–Lionel Richie, Katy Perry and Luke Bryan–saved. The next 10 spots are ordered based on a mixture of intuition and Facebook stats from last week. YOUR MILEAGE MAY VARY! I encourage all of you to post your OWN rankings in comments!
Top 14 Rankings
14. Jordan Anthony
Jordan was a surprise judges save last week. The Australian singer is rangy and varied in his phrasing. But eliminated contestant, Mackenzie Sol, who is similar, was a more entertaining performer, although he did oversing at times. Ajaii was the big surprise boot of the night. The show promoted him SO much and then the judges didn’t save him. I suspect his voting numbers weren’t great. In any case, Jordan isn’t from the United States, and might have trouble garnering a fan base.
13. Jayna Elise
Jayna is a talented vocalist, but her song choices are old fashioned. She consistently ranks low on Facebook views and had to be saved last week. In order to advance, she needs to swing for the fences on Sunday.
12. Nya
Nya is an intricate singer who blends her theatrical style with jazz nd R&B influences. She deserves better than she’s getting. Maybe her style is too sophisticated for a singing show. She’s not a super-showy vocalist, but she’s interesting and creative. Her subtilty may be hurting her. She deserves a Top 10 spot. Maybe she’ll at least make the Top 12.
11. Roman Collins
Roman racks up pretty good streaming numbers every week. That’s why his placing outside of the top 10 last week was unexpected. And again, after Monday’s show, his streaming numbers were solid. The gospel singer knows how to entertain a crowd. I half expect Roman to end a song on his knees as Ryan rushes on stage to drape him with a cape. If you know, you know.
10. Jack Blocker
Jack is competing in a crowded country field. Will Moseley and Triston Harper are both more popular than him. While he made it this, he’s probably only got a couple of more episodes in him, at the most.
09. McKenna Faith Breinholt
Singing her late birth mother’s song “Tumbleweed” was touching. But frankly, it’s not a superb song. If she was going to reprise it, smart to do it during a non-voting leg. As far as streams are concerned, she’s mostly a mid-packer. Fellow singer-songwriters Kaibrienne and Abi Carter (usually, I’ll get to her in a minute) seem more popular. And Mia Matthews is peaking at the right time! Watch out for the dark horse.
08. Julia Gagnon
Julia is also a middle packer when it comes to streams. She needs to be careful when she chooses songs, in addition to working on her vocal control. Her range–both at the low and high end–is crazy impressive. But her enunciation, phrasing and tuning can be sloppy. With a little more work, she’ll be an incredible singer. But now may not be her time.
07. Abi Carter
Abi has been a favorite all season. But her streaming numbers tanked on Monday. She came in at No 12, while the night before her My Chemical Romance cover clocked in at No. 2. Maybe choose more familiar songs? I’ve got her listed low this week, but Abi could certainly bounce back.
06. Emmy Russell
As Loretta Lynn’s granddaughter, does Emmy even need a platform like American Idol? She comes across as shy and somewhat intimidated by her grandmother’s legacy. While she used to sing with her grandmother, and appeared on the Opry, American Idol has given her an even bigger platform on which to stretch her talent and confidence. She’s navigating an impressive growth arc, while she presents her solid folk/pop songwriting to a larger audience. She’s the kind of contestant fans root for, despite being a nepo baby. Mia Matthews and Kaibrienne offer stiff competition, but she’s a good bet for the Top 10.
05. KAYKO
Some fans are accusing Kayko of being an industry plant. Maybe because his “aw shucks, I’m just here to help my friend” dealio during auditions seemed too good to be true. Or that his songs are so polished and professional, he’s got to have a team behind him, right? Eh. Sometimes amateurs who have been writing songs in their bedrooms are just really good! Nevertheless, Ryan Seacrest’s adopted “son” seemed to come out of nowhere and has garnered a fan base. He’s performed only original songs on air so far. Will he be comfortable singing other people’s songs as the group tackles varied theme nights? Stay tuned.
04. Will Moseley
Will is like the second coming of Chris Stapleton. He’s country, but with a rock and soul bent and so comfortable on stage, he never seems ruffled. He’s almost TOO comfortable and laid back. At some point, he needs to let loose with a performance that leaves him and the audience emotionally wrung out at the end. Nevertheless, his streaming numbers are good. He’s a good bet for the Top 10. And he’s also a solid songwriter.
03. Mia Matthews
Mia, 1/3 of Worth The Wait, a country trio with her sister and mother, who competed on The Voice a few seasons back, initially came across as a timid singer with potential. But since her audition, she has stepped into the spotlight and grown in popularity. Could it be that once the judges eliminated sister Jayce during Hollywood week, Mia felt comfortable to concentrate on her own journey? Regardless, she could make it very far in this competition.
02. Kaibrienne
Kainbrienne, formerly known as KB Richens, is a consistent fan favorite. When she hesitated during her Top 20 performance on Sunday, she fought her way through an emotional original song with the judges and fans firmly on her side. Creative song choices, including tunes typically performed by men (Simple Man, Heaven) keeps fans wondering what she’ll do next.
01 Triston Harper
FIfteen year old Triston has shouldered grown up responsibilities in his young life, including he and his Mother being homeless for a time. His maturity shows in his song choices, songwriting and delivery. He’s such a fan favorite, that as of right now, he’s a good bet to win it all.
