American Idol 2024 Top 24 Polls: VOTE for your FAVORITE Performance, PREDICT who will LEAVE the show
It’s time to VOTE for your favorites as America decides who stays and who goes home as voting opens for the first time. Check out our recap from tonight HERE.
Last week’s polls: OOPS!
First, about last week’s poll. I left Blake Proel off the list, which more or less invalidates the results, so I did not post a follow-up. However, the results, without Blake on the voting list came out with Abi Carter (12.74%) in first place, Kayko (9.76%) in second place, Julia Gagnon (8.23%) in third place, K.B Richins (6.69%) in fourth place and Mckenna Breinholt (6.13%) in fifth place. The drop-offs between singers was gradual, no big bunch up at the top.
Additionally: 56% LIKED the Idol Arena format, while 43% did not. Favorite judges went Katy (30.14%, Lionel – 27.66%, Luke – 24.47%, They All Suck – 17.73%. And finally, y’all graded the season so far thusly: B – 47%, A – 32.57%, C – 15.33%, D – 3.07%, F – 1.15%

American Idol season 9 alum, Tori Kelly, mentored the singers. She had specific and helpful advice for all the singers. The worst is when mentors blurt out platitudes that mean nothing. But she helpfully guided the singers where they needed the help most.
However, the band got in the way of a few singers. There are singer-songwriter types who don’t fare well singing against a big loud electric band behind them. A few of the performance (McKenna Breinholt and Hailey Mia for instance) who would have fared better with acoustic backup.
In any case, the Top 24 is the start of American Idol kicking off in a REAL way. The singers have the opportunity to sing with little interruption, and the excitement of eliminations begin! To see what’s coming next, check out American Idol 2024 FULL schedule HERE.
One more note: We will be shutting down the elimination prediction polls WEDNESDAY APRIL 10 at 8 PM ET/PT! The Top 20 round will film that day and results spoilers will likely be available before the show airs. In order not to taint the polls with voted from fans in the know, the voting window will be limited. We will post results later this week. Fans who KNOW the results can compare and contrast IN THE SPOILER POST! We’ll see how close y’all are able to guess.
Favorite Performances
I’ve become a big fan of Kayko. Although I preferred his earlier songs, I appreciate that he’s willing to take risks with originals while opening himself up emotionally. Also, KB Richins did a solid cover of the oft covered “Heaven” by Bryan Adams. Will Mosley will go far in this competition. Watch out for him.
Prediction:
Will cuteness save Blake Proehl? I’m thinking maybe not. Hailey Mia may be in danger, although she deserves to stick around. Both singers got lukewarm critiques from the judges. Hailey has been montaged and downplayed and her performance spot may have fans forgetting about her performance.
