American Idol 2025 Top 24 Part 1 Polls: VOTE for your FAVORITE Performance, PREDICT who will LEAVE the show
It’s time to VOTE for your favorite American Idol contestants as America decides who stays and who goes home as voting opens for the first time. Check out our recap from tonight (April 13) HERE.
Two singers will be eliminated from each night of competition. American Idol will unveil a Top 20 on next Sunday’s (April 20) Easter Worship Special. Watch for another poll after the remaining Top 24 perform Monday night (April 13)

For the record, after American Idol revealed the Top 24 last week, we posted polls. Here are the results: Top 3 favorite American Idol 2025 Top 24 contestants were: Breanna Nix 11.19%, Slater Nalley 10.38%, Drew Ryn 9.11%. Jamal Roberts came in 4th place with 8.44%, Mattie Pruitt in 5th with 7.84%.
Carrie Underwood YAY or NAY: 82% are happy with her judging on American Idol. 17.39% are NOT. She is also your favorite judge on the panel scoring 50.13%. Lionel Richie is next with 32.15% and Luke Bryan is last with 17.72%
Fans grade the season so far as a B+: B 48.32%, A 38.55%.
A few notes on The Top 24 Part 1
Jamal Roberts stole the show in the pimp spot with is Jelly Roll cover. He seemed completely natural covering a country song. That in comparison to Victor Solo’s contrived take on a Luke Bryan tune (and usually I like Victor’s covers!
The edit doesn’t address how young Zaylie Windsor arranged her cover of Blondie’s Heart of Glass. But I have a feeling she came in with an acoustic version that fell a bit flat in front of the judges. They or the band probably suggested that she go uptempo for the second half. That part of the song was too big for her. She’s a singer songwriter. No need to try and compete with big voiced singers like Kolbi and Breanna. She’s fine as a singer songwriter!
I didn’t love Slater Nalley’s cover of Over the Rainbow. But guess who did? Former republican congressman and speaker of the house Newt Gingrich.He urged fans to vote for him on Twitter/X and even linked to the ABC voting page. Hm. They are both from Georgia, so maybe it’s that.
Breanna Nix could potentially win this thing. Her Facebook numbers are high, but also she turns in consistently GOOD performances. However, don’t count out a dark horse like Gabby Samone, for instance.
One more note:
We will be shutting down the elimination prediction polls WEDNESDAY APRIL 16 at 8 PM ET/PT! The Top 20 round will film that day and results spoilers will likely be available before the show airs. In order not to taint the polls with votes from fans who know the outcome, the voting window will be limited.
We will post results from BOTH polls later this week. Fans who KNOW the results can compare and contrast IN THE (LIKELY INEVITABLE) SPOILER POST! We’ll see how close y’all are able to guess.
