American Idol Season 23 first studio audience taping set for January 27.

Despite wildfires ravaging the greater Los Angeles area, the traditional American Idol Hollywood Week for season 23 will take place at the Orpheum Theater at the end of January.

The ticketing outfit, On Camera audiences has tickets available for two tapings scheduled for Monday January 27. Sign up HERE to sit in the audience now.

Hollywood Week traditionally includes a couple of rounds filmed inside a theater that culminates with a live “showstoppers” round, which includes contestants singing backed by a full band in front of a studio audience.

The ticket page is vague, but it’s likely that Monday’s tapings will conclude the Hollywood round and determine the Top 24 or so heading to Hawaii for another live taping. After the showcase, the show films the judges revealing to the contestants whether they move on to Hawaii or head home.

Rumor has it, contestants will travel to Hawaii around Feb 6-13th. It’s a very tight window. Typically, Hollywood Week took place in December. But then usually, American Idol kicked off it’s season in mid-February. Season 23 will begin officially on Sunday March 9, which a special post-Oscars special airing on March 2.
