UPDATE: The official website has the guys performing tonight and the girls tomorrow…Not quite sure what’s going on at the moment…
After saying goodbye to 4 contestants last week, we’re down to 20, with the Top 10 girls performing tonight, and the Top 10 guys tomorrow.
Hopefully, the kids have shaken off the nerves, reconsidered song choices and will take the stage with renewed confidence.
It all begins with song selection. Unfortunately, the wide-open theme, Billboard singles, has perhaps been a little overwhelming for some of the contestants. Bad choices cut short the promising Idol runs of Ashley Rodriguez and Janell Wheeler. Will the kids who made bad choices, yet managed to advance make better choices this week? And will those who chose smart continue to choose wisely?
Good song choices or no, so far, the performances have been uninspired from this bunch. Right about now, Season 9 needs a few moments, or peeps are going to start tuning out…
What should the Idols sing this week? Katie Stevens needs to pick young, Didi Benami should choose against type, Crystal Bowersox would impress the judges picking a rock song from a male artist, John Park should go R&B, and forget jazz, and Casey James should think about going a little more contemporary…
What do you think?
