There have been so many memorable singers and personalities since American Idol premiered back in 2002 that the folks at Jimmy Kimmel Live wondered where some fan favorite contestants are now.
So they tracked a bunch of them down, booked a recording studio, and dedicated to those of us who have been watching for a long, long time, Jimmy is pleased to present an American Idol all-star reunion performance “for the ages!”
Singing to the tune of “We Are The World,” William Hung (S3), Sanjaya Malakar (S6), Antonella Barba (S6), “Chewbacca Girl,” Kevin Covais (S5), Haley Reinhart (S10), Scott McIntyre (S8), “General” Larry Platt, Reynaldo Lapuz, Ruben Studdard (S2), Taylor Hicks (S5) croon “Where are we now? That’s a good question!”
The Idol alums deliver their updates in song: Sanjaya makes signature cocktail, Scott got his second kidney transplant (and still has trouble with High Fives!). It’s mostly a motley assortment of folks driving Ubers and working in warehouses. Although Kevin “Chicken Little” Covais had a part in Transformers 4! Haley was weirdly out of place amongst the misfits. That girl can sang, c’mon. She should have been standing off to the side with Idol champs Taylor and Ruben.
