Here’s an interesting bit of news. American Idol Top 24 finalist Hannah Everhart is currently working on an album of covers with Clark Beckham.
She told Music Mayhem in an interview that “Clark is a very great Christian guy,” She added, “Like, if you want a nice guy to work with, that is Clark, so I’m just glad that I got to meet him, you know, and that he was the person who helped me with this, because I wouldn’t have wanted anyone else, like truly, and he is a musical genius and you know, we both kinda put our heads together, and I’m not gonna take any of the credit really, because he came up with all of the renditions, pretty much.”
Clark, who came in second on American Idol in 2015 behind winner Nick Fradiani, devoted his Youtube channel to covering American Idol this year. He interviewed and/or spoke with contestants from the season. So, it’s not a surprise that he is collaborating with a season 19 alum.
Hannah’s backstory about coming from a small town down south inspired the Idol producers to pair her with the cosmopolitan and infamous Claudia Conway during the Hollywood duet round. It was a typically contrived reality show bit (Hannah says she never disappeared. The producers told her to go eat), where at first they didn’t get along, but in the end became friends. Also, the show played up her so-called resemblance to judge Katy Perry. She got a ton of screen time, but ultimately didn’t make it once the voting rounds started at the Top 24.
Hannah ready to release a cover of Allen Stone’s “Give You Blue” She knows she had pitch issues on the Idol stage
The 18 year old, according to the piece, is gearing up to release her cover of Allen Stone’s “Give You Blue.” Clark is a very musical guy, it’ll be interesting to see how he produced the young singer. At this point, she’s pretty green. The covers collection includes work by some of her favorite artists, including Miranda Lambert.
“These are a few songs that represent who I am and who I want to be as an artist,” Everhart added. She also mentioned that she realizes she had pitch issues on the Idol stage. More or less, she wants to prove that she can sing.
“Music is what God had planned for me, and so that’s what I do now,” Hannah explained in the interview. “And it’s something that I’ve grown a strong passion for the more that I did American Idol, and I’m just glad that other people believed in me as well.”
She’s currently based in her hometown in Mississippi, but hopes to eventually move to Nashville to pursue a career in music.
She reached out to Idol judges, Claudia Conway, they blew her off
Hannah says she hasn’t heard from the judges, Katy, Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie. “I tried DMing them, but they don’t DM me back!” She also claims that she reached out to Claudia, but never heard back.
