Day 2 of the American Idol Austin, TX call back auditions are over, but before the Idol crew headed home, Steven Tyler, Jennifer Lopez, Randy Jackson and Ryan Seacrest sat down to talk with the press.
“The talent is better this season…I know we say it every time, ” declares Randy, “I think we’ve put through more people in these last two cities than we’ve put through in the whole thing, past seasons.”
Yep, Randy. You say it every year. And glad to see you’re as articulate as ever!
Steven calls the second day, “unreal.” Jennifer says she thinks they put through, “The first 15 people straight.”
Newbie judges, Steven and Jennifer are still adjusting to their new gigs. ‘Was I nervous doing this?” Steven answers, “You bet your booty.” (I’m hoping we get lots of retro slang during the live shows!)
“American Idol Season 10 is going to be over the top, ” Steven confesses, “So, it’s hard for us to say, ‘Nope, sorry, you don’t cut it’ because they well up. They cry, they make me cry…”
“They break your heart, ” says Jennifer.
After a few cities, the judges are finally getting into the groove. “Randy was a big help, ” says Jennifer.
