It’s an American Idol season 2 reunion! Winner Ruben Studdard and runner-up Clay Aiken performed the holiday classic “This Christmas” on ABC’s The View Thursday (Dec 15).
After the performance, Clay noted that although they toured together in 2010, the duo have not performed together on television in 13 years. That’s right kiddos. American Idol season 2 happened way back in 2003.
While Clay, who ran for congress in North Carolina a few years ago, has made regular stops on The View in the past few months as a political correspondent, the hosts had some catching up to do with Ruben. Currently, the singer is producing Uncle Ruben’s House, a children’s television show. Clay and Ruben have remained close friends over the years. They still facetime once every week or so. BFFs forever. Heh.
