Colton Dixon took to Facebook last week to announce new music. “All That Matters” is the first single from the American Idol season 11 alum’s 3rd Christian contemporary album, Identity.
The newly-married singer revealed the album cover and title via twitter on Friday. During a recent Facebook live chat with fans, Colton described the album as “the most fun record that I’ve made so far,” and added, “It’s kind of a party record. There are tons of songs…that you just wanna dance to.”
Currently Colton and his band are on the Winter Jam tour along with fellow CCM artists, Crowder, Sadie Robertson (yes…that Sadie Robertson from DWTS and Duck Dynasty), Newsong and more.
As far as the album release date, Colton teases: “I’m technically not allowed to give you guys the release date, but it will be coming soon. I’ll tell you this. It will be coming out while we are on Winter Jam.” FYI: Winter Jam runs through April 2, so expect the album sometime during the the first quarter of 2017.
Listen to an acoustic snip of “All That Matters” below. The new single will be released on January 13. “We were originally hoping it would be a different song for the first single,” Colton confessed during Facebook live, “but it’s funny how the song just grew and grew and grew on me.”
Colton is especially excited that fans attending Winter Jam will be able to hear the full version of the song live.
