@atx.merPeople aren’t who they always seem to be on TV. Im tired of always being silenced. You even denied my daughter being yours ##cheater ##americanidol ##fyp? rihannas audio – MHMMMM
Cecil Ray was an inexperienced country singer who charmed the judges at his audition with his sincerity. His backstory revolved around his daughter. Because he grew up poor himself, he wanted to make a better life for her. Watch his audition HERE.
Cecil left the competition last week when the Top 24 became the Top 16 based on America’s Vote. The episode aired on Sunday April 11, but filmed a few days earlier, after which, Cecil headed back to Texas.
For his Top 24 performances, which aired on Sunday April 4, the country singer sang a solo of Tracy Lawrence’s “Paint Me a Birmingham” and a duet with Jimmie Allen. In their video package, Jimmie gave Cecil his phone number, urging him to call anytime for advice. I wonder if Jimmie will take Cecil’s call now.
