American Idol First Top 24 Reveal Ratings Stay Steady

American Idol ratings stayed steady Sunday night (March 28), earning an 0.8 in the key 18-49 demo and 6 million viewers. Piggybacking on the March Madness college basketball audience, CBS’ 60 Minutes garnered a 0.9 rating in the key demo and 8.3 million viewers.

While American Idol came in 2nd in the key demo for ABC, it’s overall audience came in fourth behind CBS’ The Equalizer (0.7 in the key demo, 6.5 million viewers) and NCIS: LA (0.6 in the demo and 6.2 million viewers).

It is worth noting that a year ago, American Idol earned a 1.3 rating in the key demo.
