The American Idol Hollywood Rounds begin airing on FOX today at 8/7c PM at 8 pm. We’ll be live blogging all of it!

The Voice season 10 Battle Rounds are scheduled to be filmed today and tomorrow at 10 and 2 pm PT in Los Angeles. Blake Shelton, Adam Levine, Christina Aguilera and Pharrell Williams will be on hand to whittle down the Top 48.

American Idol part of continuous cycle, says telecommunications professor – What “American Idol” and other talent shows like it has done is push the idea that it is all about talent, said Dom Caristi, professor of telecommunications. “They have a talent and it doesn’t take thousands and thousands of hours of rehearsal,” he said. “It doesn’t take working in small clubs for years and years to refine your art. Penn researcher studies American Idol losers – After four – failed – auditions for American Idol, Junhow Wei got the message that he probably wasn’t going to be a pop star. But Wei, who is now on the verge of getting his Ph.D. in sociology at the University of Pennsylvania, has found a way to turn his rejection into something positive: a study on how Idol losers deal with bad news. Wei’s own reaction the first time he was rejected – anger – was a common one, he said.
